The adventure with bald Charlie Brown begins on the Steam Punk Island…I looked at some of the mysterious things in this building.

The Explorer

• While most people had very specific goals or islands they wanted to visit, I just wanted to explore and see how islands were put together. Here I explored a building and ran into Helen from class.

Ed Tech

• Helen and I teleported to the Ed tech island and we went into this building with these posters/slides on the walls that talked about game integration in learning.

Video Games and Fighting!

• Helen and I found a tent that had video games in it. I found out that avatars had the ability to play the games and even become part of a game. Unfortunately I didn’t take the picture right but I fought with Rolando Valentin in a fighting video game.

Awkward Dancing

• I “played” Dance Dance Revolution, it really seems like I got played because I looked awkward dancing.

Black Pearl Beach Amusement Park

• This was just pure virtual recreation.

Reflections

• This excursion was very interesting and allowed time for meaningful reflection. I felt a sense of camaraderie when I explored the island with other people and I see how the places people visit can work toward defining them. Also, I see how content creation is just as important as viewership.

Don’t ask, I don’t understand either, all I know is I can sit on it.

Reflections Cont’d

• For me, utilizing this program would be great as a presentation tool. It has textual, visual and auditory elements and it creates a rich environment that is unique and not found in some applications. If there was some way to simulate procedures that would only make this platform all the more helpful.
