1955• ONE university TWO campuses: Historic home in Beirut and a new campus in

Byblos, overlooking the historic city of Byblos• Seven schools: Architecture and Design, Arts and Sciences, Business, Engineering,

Pharmacy, Medicine, and Nursing • Newly acquired University Medical Center – Rizk Hospital (UMC–RH) • Accredited by the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the New

England Association of Schools and Colleges (CIHE-NEASC) in November 2009.• Full-time faculty for fall 2010 totaled 302• With 7,183 undergraduates, 803 graduates and 81 students in professional degree

programs, enrollments in fall 2010 totaled 8,067

Things to Think About• There is no “OCLC Membership Culture” in the Middle East.

How to sell this concept during the meetings?• Should NON-Members attend as well as Members?• The meetings must carry obvious VALUE for the attendees.• Should there be an OCLC product update? • A survey could help out in identifying the meetings content. • Meetings to be held in Arabic language (preferable).• Should local agents such AAS and Logos attend? Who else

from OCLC should attend?• Responsibilities: Host institution? OCLC?• Costs: Travel – Hotel – Logistics, etc.
