Page Pony Library Mission The mission of the Page Library is to inspire all users of the library to become active, life- long learners by providing instruction to foster competence, stimulating a passion for reading, and providing access to a variety of 21st century resources. 3. CHAMPS in the Library Entering the library Checking Out Books Lessons Computer Use Exiting the library 4. Entering the Library Conversation Voice Level 0 Help Raise hand and wait to be acknowledged Activity Walk to designated spot/ Return books if needed Movement Remain seated until further instruction Participation Quietly wait for lesson or activity to begin Success 5. Selecting and Checking Out Books Conversation Voice Level 0-1 Help Walk to librarian or teacher to ask for assistance (you may have to get in line) Activity Independently select books to read Movement Wait until you are called. Walk in designated areas and get in line to check out Participation Actively look for books and place books you do NOT want in the proper place Success Happy reading! 6. Exiting the Library Conversation Voice Level 0 Help Raise hand if you need help Activity Clean up your area and gather your belongings Movement Push in your chair before you leave Participation Work area is clean and you are silently waiting for dismissal Success Leave shortly after bell rings 7. WHY would you visit the library? 8. Check out Books Use online catalog to search for books! E-books Fiction Non-fiction Biography Special Collections Picture (Easy) Books Reference English AND Spanish 9. Book Check out You can checkout 2 books for 2 weeks. If you finish before then, bring the books back for 2 more! Take care of your books. You must pay for lost or damaged books. Dont lend library books to ANYONE!!!! 10. Read Magazines Sports Illustrated Kids Teen Vogue Wired National Geographic Kids Xmen Many more!!! Magazines can be read IN THE LIBRARY only. No Checkout! 11. Use Computers Use for educational purposes only! Always have a purpose for using the computer Example- research, practice math skills, type a paper, read an ebook, etc. 12. You must have a pass to visit the library during school hours!
