Target Audience• For my magazine, I think that my target audience would be in their early 30’s and onwards. This is

because my magazine be inspired by older, indie pop and rock bands such as The Smiths, The who, The Cure, Jimi Hendrix and David Bowie. These musician where famous in the 70’s and 80’s so they would have an older audience because people who were younger in the 70’s,and so on, would be older now. I am also inspired by the magazine Uncut because I would like to achieve such a magazine style but a bit more modern. The rock would not be the traditional rock but the rock which more on the pop side.

What style, genre or time of music is your magazine about or is going to appeal to a range of music tastes?

• My magazine would be based on pop rock and indie pop but from the 20th century. Although I would also ‘feature’ and be inspired by modern bands and musician that create sounds from the 70’s for example Blood Orange/ Devonte Hynes.

• It would also involve the style of music from musicians such as Bobby Brown, Amy Winehouse, Ryan Paris, haddaway and Lauryn Hill.

• So there would be a mixture of older rock and pop with modern rock.

How often will your magazine come out, weekly, fortnightly, monthly or bi-monthly?

• My magazine would come out monthly.• Convenience for buyer.• Cheaper to manufacture

How much will your magazine cost?  Consider who your target audience is and also how often your magazine comes out.

• I think I would price magazine between £3.99 and £4.99 – the average price for a magazine. My magazine would be published every month so I think that this would be a considerable price. The music magazine Uncut is priced at £4.99 so I would price it at a similar price.

Is your magazine going to be glossy like Q Magazine or more like a newspaper like Kerrang explain why?

• I think that I would make my magazine like a newspaper just like Kerrang. This is because if to look at it as though I would actually publish it, it would be cheaper and it would have a more ‘vintage’ feel to it.

Who will feature on the first edition cover and why you have chosen them (this is a made up artist or group)?

• The musician that will feature my first edition cover will be called Blood David.• The style of the musician would be rock/pop inspired by the 70’s and 80’s.

What sections will feature in the contents of your magazine?

• There will be a couple of images of the featuring artist as well as a summary of the featuring article. There would also be summary's of the other articles in the contents page.

• There will also be some images of other artist that feature in the other articles.

How will your magazine appeal to your target audience?

• I will make sure that the target audience will be appealed to the magazine by making the front cover stand out from the rest ‘on the shelf’. I would not make it very colourful but I would make it in a vintage style so it stand out from the very modern ones.

Which magazine publisher have you chosen to publish your magazine and why?

• I will choose Bauer Media to publish my magazine. This is because they publish many music magazines so they would know much about music and music magazines.
