A test is a systematic procedure for measuring an individual’s behavior (Brown,

1991)

Through testing, teachers can measure student’s acquisition of knowlege,

skills, and values.

Testing is only one of the techniques teacher can employ in gathering

information about the students learning and achievement.

Tests serve a lot of functions for school administrators, supervisors ,teachers and

parents, as well (Arends,1994;Escarilla & Gonzales, 1990)

ability of an individual.

3. Aptitude TestIt is a test designed for the purpose of

predicting the likelihood of an individual’s success in a learning area or field of endeavor.

4. Achievement TestIt is a test given to students to

determine what a student has learned from formal instruction in school.

5.Sumative TestIt is a test given at the end of

instruction to determine student’s learning and assign grades.

6. Diagnostic TestIt is a test administered to students to

identify their specific strengths and weaknesses in past and present learning.

7. Formative TestIt is a test given to improve teaching and

learning while it is going on.

8. Socio-metric TestIt is a test used in discovering learner’s likes

and dislikes, preferences and their social acceptance, as well as social relationships exiting in a group.

9. Trade TestIt is a test designed to measure an

individual’s skill or competence in an occupation or vocation.
