The Amazon Basin is located in the Tropical Region in South America between 10*N -10*S of the Equator This region receives suns rays vertically . This region is very hot during the day throughout the year and rainfall is in the evening That is why the climate is very hot and wet .It is not suitable for human settlements.

People living in this region are tribals; their life here is very hard .They clear the forests for their living. The climate is not favourable for living . Once forest clearing is re-established they have to shift the place .The Amazon forests contain a wider variety of flora and fauna.

The Amazon forest is known as “hunters paradise . There are many monkeys , elephants etc. The rivers are abundant of fishes, crocodiles. A number of birds are here like sparrows ,Macaws etc

The main occupation of the people is hunting , fishing and food gathering. People mainly depend on the forests. Agriculture is practiced here and there where forest is cleared people do shifting agriculture to there.

This region is located in India between 20*-30*n latitude .Summer here is very hot with heavy rainfall. This basin is one of the most fertile region in the world .The rivers bring fertile soil . There is abundant water supply .There are many cash crops like jute cotton etc.

The forest of this basin is not dense as of Amazon basin .The trees which are in this basin are of great importance .The forest is tropical deciduous which sheds their leaves in summer .The main tree which is planted in the mountain are teak.

The main occupation of people is agriculture so primary occupation is agriculture .The density of population is very high as many big industries are located here .The cause for high density population are fertile soil, abundant water supply etc. This basin is connected with all parts in India .
