Typically held on the Tuesday afterThankgiving, #GivingTuesday is anonline campaign to encourage acts of
kindness.
There are many ways you canparticipate in #GivingTuesday.
No act, or gift, is too small.Here are some ways
for you to contribute...
DONATE GOODS
If you have warm clothes, blankets, or other itemsyou no longer use, donate them to a local shelter.These items can still be used by those who are notas fortunate.
Donate dry goods and canned foods toyour local food bank to help fight hunger.
You can also give blood, andpossibly help save a life.
VOLUNTEER YOUR TIME
Time is valuable, and giving some of yours cango a long way.
Locate your nearest shelter and spend time playingwith kittens, or walking and caring for dogs.
Contact your local children's hospital to possiblyspend time reading and playing with children.
Offer to help your neighbors orfriends. Small favors are helpful, andshow you care.
SHARE YOUR SKILLS
If you're a great baker, consider baking goodsto give to bake sales, local shelters or schools.
If you're a creative, contact a local public school to organizesmall art lessons, or contribute to larger creative projects liketheater productions or murals.
If you're a great writer with an eye for detail, youcould use your skills to improve resumes. You canorganize workshops with local high schoolstudents, veterans, or transitional homes.
