Why ? What ? Who ?• Many of you are here as part of a business community being

built by networking via Social Media, a fantastic way to develop brands, customer awareness and loyalty

• I am here to explain the “offline community” being built in Queens Road via two main methods

• The Big Lunch @thebiglunch www.thebiglunch.com• Social Media / Online Tools (Twitter / Facebook / Wordpress Blog / Website / Email DL)

• Tim Tarby-Donald, resident of Queens Road, Banbury for last 5 years, work in Global Purchasing for Xerox and am founder, project lead and sponsorship co-ordinator for QR Big Lunch street party organisation

Queens Road Community• Victorian terraced street close to town• Approx 100 households of all types• Multi-national, multi-cultural community• Residents who are locally focused• A fascinating, talented bunch of folks !

The Journey So Far• 2009 – First QR Big Lunch Street Party

– 150 attendees / £200 raised for each of Katharine House Hospice / Horton Hospital SCBU

– Organised in 4 weeks by 5 people– Twitter used to publish info– BBC Oxford TV coverage & local press

• 2010 – Second QR Big Lunch Street Party– 250 attendees / £400 raised for BYHP– Charity Fundraising Quiz– Large organising team this time– Networking / publicity / support on Twitter / Facebook group / blog and

web coverage from Ian @banburyshireinfo – Local press coverage / online media coverage / Four Shires article

What’s Next?• Third Queens Road Big Lunch Street Party

– June 2011– Up to 400 attendees & fun for all !– New charity to be supported

• Launch of community website in Q2 2011http://queensroad.spruz.com

Offline community becomes integrated with an online community !!
