HEADLINE Make your headline strong and customer/client centric not just stating that you are CEO. This headline is searchable by Google and shows up in Google search. Make sure you own what you do and confidently portray this.
Think about all the experiences you have had and the things you have done. This section builds on who you are and what you have done to get you to where you are today. Position yourself as influential and the expert you are. Remember this is not just for jobs.

PROFILE ! Think of your profile in terms of the
search results and what people are typing into the LinkedIn search bar.
! Make sure your keywords are optimised, so when someone is searching through the results that your listing stands out.
! They will see your name, your profile picture, your headline which by default is your current job title and your company.
! Make sure your profile image is professionally done and that your headline is optimised with keywords, is compelling and showcases a benefit statement.
SUMMARY ! Ensure your Summary showcases that you
are who you say you are, that you understand peoples problems and that you can help them.
! Your summary should be in 1st person narrative, written conversationally, discuss your values and how you can help. Showcase some successes.
! With a maximum of 2000 characters make sure you are succinct and answer what your customer/clients want to know and always include a link and offer for them to take the next step.
! Make sure you have a clear call to action at the end and that you have your phone number and email there so they can contact you easily.
! Once you have researched and have your keywords make sure that these keywords are in your heading, summary, experiences and interests.
! Place the keyword anywhere that is reasonable, that reads naturally and is authentic.
! Never stuff your profile with keywords but do make sure that the chosen keywords are placed wherever is is plausible.
HOW WILL YOU STAND OUT?
What is it that defines you? Your personality - so express it! If you convey your personality this will
set you apart from your competitors.
COMMUNICATE Be active and dont be afraid to show your
humour, intelligence and personality. Encourage people, be helpful and just be yourself.
ENGAGE When someone sends you a friend invitation, respond and give them
something free first, something you feel will be of value to them and again put in your
PUBLISH Publishing on LinkedIn is huge and a great place to show your personality through your articles. Make sure you respond when people comment
on your posts.
