78 Surah Al Naba (The Tidings)

Surah an-Naba’ (The Announcement)

�� ح�يم الر� ح�من� الر� الله� � م �س� ب

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful


'ون$ اءل $س$ $ت ي ع$م�

[78:1] Of what do they ask one another?


� �ع$ظ�يم ال � $إ �ب الن ع$ن�

[78:2] About the great event,


�ف'ون$ $ل ت م'خ� ف�يه� ه'م� �ذ�ي ال

[78:3] About which they differ?


$م'ون$ $ع�ل ي س$ $ال� ك

[78:4] Nay! they shall soon come to know


$م'ون$ $ع�ل ي س$ $ال� ك 'م� ث

[78:5] Nay! Nay! they shall soon know.


م�ه$اد=ا ر�ض$$ األ� $ج�ع$ل� ن $م� $ل أ

[78:6] Have We not made the earth an even expanse?


$اد=ا و�ت$ أ $ال$ ب �ج� و$ال

[78:7] And the mountains as projections (thereon)?


و$اج=ا $ز� أ 'م� $اك $ق�ن ل و$خ$

[78:8] And We created you in pairs,


=ا $ات ب س' 'م� $و�م$ك ن $ا �ن و$ج$ع$ل

[78:9] And We made your sleep to be rest (to you),


ا $اس= �ب ل �ل$ �ي الل $ا �ن و$ج$ع$ل

[78:10] And We made the night to be a covering,


ا م$ع$اش= �ه$ار$ الن $ا �ن و$ج$ع$ل

[78:11] And We made the day for seeking livelihood.


د$اد=ا ش� �ع=ا ب س$ 'م� ف$و�ق$ك $ا �ن $ي $ن و$ب

[78:12] And We made above you seven strong ones,


و$ه�اج=ا اج=ا ر$ س� $ا �ن و$ج$ع$ل

[78:13] And We made a shining lamp,


$ج�اج=ا ث م$اء ات� �م'ع�ص�ر$ ال م�ن$ $ا �ن ل $نز$ و$أ

[78:14] And We send down from the clouds water pouring forth abundantly,


=ا $ات $ب و$ن Uا ب ح$ �ه� ب 'خ�ر�ج$ �ن ل

[78:15] That We may bring forth thereby corn and herbs,


�ف$اف=ا $ل أ Wات� ن و$ج$

[78:16] And gardens dense and luxuriant.


=ا م�يق$ات $ان$ ك �ف$ص�ل� ال $و�م$ ي �ن� إ

[78:17] Surely the day of decision is (a day) appointed:


$ف�و$اج=ا أ 'ون$ �ت $أ ف$ت الص]ور� ف�ي 'نف$خ' ي $و�م$ ي

[78:18] The day on which the trumpet shall be blown so you shall come forth in hosts,


=ا �و$اب ب$ أ $ت� $ان ف$ك م$اء الس� �ح$ت� و$ف'ت

[78:19] And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings,


=ا اب ر$ س$ $ت� $ان ف$ك $ال' ب �ج� ال ت� ير$ و$س'

[78:20] And the mountains shall be moved off so that they shall remain a mere semblance.


ص$اد=ا م�ر� $ت� $ان ك �م$ ج$ه$ن �ن� إ

[78:21] Surely hell lies in wait,


=ا م$آب �ل�ط�اغ�ين$ ل

[78:22] A place of resort for the inordinate,


=ا $ح�ق$اب أ ف�يه$ا �ين$ �ث ب ال$

[78:23] Living therein for ages.


=ا اب ر$ ش$ و$ال$ د=ا $ر� ب ف�يه$ا $ذ'وق'ون$ ي ال�

[78:24] They shall not taste therein cool nor drink


اق=ا و$غ$س� ح$م�يم=ا �ال� إ

[78:25] But boiling and intensely cold water,


و�ف$اق=ا اء ج$ز$

[78:26] Requital corresponding.


=ا اب ح�س$ ج'ون$ $ر� ي ال$ 'وا $ان ك �ه'م� �ن إ

[78:27] Surely they feared not the account,


=ا �ذ�اب ك $ا �ن $ات �آي ب 'وا $ذ�ب و$ك

[78:28] And called Our communications a lie, giving the lie (to the truth).


=ا $اب �ت ك $اه' �ن $ح�ص$ي أ Wء�ي ش$ 'ل� و$ك

[78:29] And We have recorded everything in a book,


=ا ع$ذ$اب �ال� إ 'م� �ز�يد$ك ن ف$ل$ن ف$ذ'وق'وا

[78:30] So taste! for We will not add to you aught but chastisement.


ا م$ف$از= �ق�ين$ �م'ت �ل ل �ن� إ

[78:31] Surely for those who guard (against evil) is achievement,


=ا $اب $ع�ن و$أ �ق$ ح$د$ائ

[78:32] Gardens and vineyards,


=ا اب �ر$ ت$ أ $و$اع�ب$ و$ك

[78:33] And voluptuous women of equal age;


د�ه$اق=ا ا س=� $أ و$ك

[78:34] And a pure cup.


=ا �ذ�اب ك و$ال$ $غ�و=ا ل ف�يه$ا م$ع'ون$ $س� ي ال�

[78:35] They shall not hear therein any vain words nor lying.


=ا اب ح�س$ ع$ط$اء بك$ ر� من اء ج$ز$

[78:36] A reward from your Lord, a gift according to a reckoning:


$ه'م$ا �ن $ي ب و$م$ا ر�ض�$ و$األ� م$او$ات� الس� ب ر$

=ا خ�ط$اب �ه' م�ن 'ون$ �ك $م�ل ي ال$ الرح�م$ن�

[78:37] The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, the Beneficent Allah, they

shall not be able to address Him.


ال� ص$فUا $ة' �ك ئ �م$ال$ و$ال وح' الر] $ق'وم' ي $و�م$ يو$ق$ال$ الرح�م$ن' $ه' ل $ذ�ن$ أ م$ن� �ال� إ �م'ون$ $ل $ك $ت ي

=ا ص$و$اب

[78:38] The day on which the spirit and the angels shall stand in ranks; they shall not speak except he

whom the Beneficent Allah permits and who speaks the right thing.


�ل$ى إ �خ$ذ$ ات اء ش$ ف$م$ن �ح$ق] ال $و�م' �ي ال �ك$ ذ$ل=ا م$آب به� ر$

[78:39] That is the sure day, so whoever desires may take refuge with his Lord.


$نظ'ر' ي $و�م$ ي =ا ق$ر�يب =ا ع$ذ$اب 'م� $اك ن $نذ$ر� أ �ا �ن إ$اف�ر' �ك ال $ق'ول' و$ي $د$اه' ي ق$د�م$ت� م$ا ء' �م$ر� ال

=ا اب 'ر$ ت 'نت' ك �ي $ن �ت $ي ل $ا ي

[78:40] Surely We have warned you of a chastisement near at hand: the day when man shall see what his two hands have sent before, and the unbeliever shall say: O! would that I were dust!
