Above is the image that will be the base of my front cover.

When adding the masthead, I first inserted it using the text tool on the left side of the page. I then changed the

font and added a drop shadow effect to make it stand out.

I then added the positioning statement, price and issue information. Again, I used the text tool to

do this.

After this, using my sketch of my front cover I added the coverlines. The majority of these are band names to

appeal to the widest possible audience.

I then added sublines explaining what every article was about. I add this text the same way I added all of the

other text on the front cover, using the text tool.

I then added the main coverline, this anchors the image. The main coverline is the second biggest text on the page.

I then added the subline for the main coverline describing what the article will ultimately be about.

I then added a ‘plus bar’ to the bottom of the page. This will hold more band names to appeal to a wider

audience.

I used my audience research to help decide on the bands that I would include in my ‘plus bar’.

Once the rest of the magazine cover was completed, all that was left to so was add a barcode. I added mine to the

bottom, left corner. This is a common position for barcodes on magazines.
