White tiger is

recessive mutant

of Bangal

tiger(Orange

tiger).

White Tiger is caused by the homozygous occurrence of a recessive allele in genome.

OccurrenceReported in Assam,Bangal,Bihar,andespacially in former states of Rewa.

Birth RateOut of 15000 births of orange tiger, there is one birth of white tiger.

Chinchilla gene

the mutation is

recessive to

normal colour.

Hetrozygous + Hetrozygous

Gives both Orange and White Tigers

White + white

Gives only WHITE TIGERS.

White + Orange(Homozygous (Homozygous

Recessive) Dominant)

RESULT;

white gene is disappeared.

WHY……….?

WHITE + ORANGE(homozygous) (hrtrozygous)

RESULT;

50% 50%

ORANGE + ORANGE(HETROZYGOUS) (HETROZYGOUS)

RESULT;

25% WHITE TIGERS(homozygous)

50% PURPLE TIGERS(hetrozygous)

25% ORANGE TIGERS(homozygous)

Defines strips

distance on body.

Orange tiger, who

inherits two copies

of this gene

becomes GOLDEN

TABBY.

White tiger

becomes stripless.

White Tiger has an enzyme in their fur which

react to temperature.

White tiger produced a mutated form of

tyrosinase, an enzyme cause production of

Melanin, which only function at very low

temperature i.e below 37C* or 99F*.

That’s why White Tigers are darker at theirs

legs,mouth and ear etc.

This phenomena is called Acromelanism.

In stress or confusion, White tiger cross their

eyes(Squint or partly closed).

This disease is known as STRABISMUS.

Due to abnormality in optic chiasm.

Neurons from RATINA to BRAIN to OPTIC

CHIASM, some cross and don’t cross, so the

image is projected to wrong HEMISPHERE of

BRAIN.

Club foot(short tendons of forelegs)

Kidney problems

Crooked backbone

Twisted neck

React strangely to anesthesia(The best drug

for immobilizing a tiger is CI 744.)

MOTALITY RATE;

80%.
