He used to sing at the college canteen when his friends urged him to participate in the singing competition on Independence Day celebrations at PAF College Lahore in 1998. He performed there and won the competition. Thereafter, he also won several other college competitions.

He met Goher- a guitarist who became his future Jal band-mate, at his college. Together they practiced and started doing mini-concerts for their friends. Atif used to perform on the songs of Junoon and Strings at these concerts. They started performing in their college, McDonalds, Uncle Bubba's Rabba Dabba and other restaurants. At this point Atif broke off from the band to do his own solo album. His solo album was released a few weeks before the release of the Jal's album, Aadat. As both the albums shared certain tracks, such as Aadat, Wo Lamhey, Rangon Mein and Dil Harey, an unofficial war over rights began between both the groups. Goher Mumtaz sued Atif for using the name Jal in his album title cunningly (Jal Pari, meaning mermaid).AlbumRelease Date1Jal Pari17 July 20042Doorie20 December 20063Meri Kahani4 January 20084The Dreamer Awakes - (Featuring Matt Sorum, Gilby Clarke)Summer 2011FilmographyYearFilmCharacter NameIndustryNotes2011BolMustafaLollywoodAtif's acting dbutSinglesSongCo-Singer1Meri HamjoliyanNone2YunhiNone3Teriyaan YaadanNone4Ab Khud Kuch Karna PadegaStrings5Haath Uthao (For Flood Victims)None6Lambi JudaiNone7DostiNone8Intezaar (Upcoming Track On Eid)NoneBollywood/Lollywood SongsSongFilmCo-Singer1Woh LamheZeherNone2AadatKalyugNone3Tere BinBas Ek PalNone4Pehli Nazar MeinRaceNone5Bakhuda Tumhi HoKismat KonnectionAlka Yagnik6Tera Hone Laga HoonAjab Prem Ki Ghazab KahaniAlisha Chinai7Tu Jaane NaAjab Prem Ki Ghazab KahaniNone9O Mere KhudaPrinceGarima Jhingon10Tere LiyePrinceShreya Ghoshal11Kaun Hoon MainPrinceNone12Aa Bhi Jaa SanamPrinceNone13Rona Chaditta ( Mahi Mahi )Mel Karade RabbaNone14Hona Tha PyarBolFaiza Mujahid15Aaj Bol DoBolHadeeqa KyaniJingles for advertisementSongCo-singer/band1Jee Lay For Warid GlowNone2Allahu Akbar For Olpers QawwaliDavood AliCoke StudioIn 2009, Atif Aslam sang five songs for Pakistani music show called Coke Studio.YearEpisodeSong NameCo-Singer20091Jal PariNone20092KinaraRiaz Ali Khan20093Wasta E Pyar DaNone20094Mai NiNone20095Humain Kya HuaNoneAwardsYearGroupAwardResult2005Indus Music AwardsBest Lyrics AadatWonIndus Music AwardsBest Song AadatWonIndus Music AwardsBest Composition AadatWonSahara Sangeet AwardsBest Playback SingerWonSahara Sangeet AwardsBest Debut SingerWon2006The Musik AwardsMost Wanted MaleWonLux Style AwardsBest Album DoorieWonFilmfare AwardsBest Playback Singer (Male) Woh Lamhe - ZeherNominated2007Lycra MTV Style AwardsMost Stylish Person in MusicWonFilmfare AwardsBest Playback Singer (Male) Tere Bin - Bas Ek PalNominated2008Lux Style AwardsMost Well Dressed Celebrity - Police DressWonThe Musik AwardsMost Wanted MaleWonGovernment of PakistanTamgha-e-Imtiaz (Medal of Distinction)Awarded2009International Indian Film Academy AwardsBest Playback Singer (Male) Pehli Nazar Mein - RaceNominatedStar Screen AwardsBest Playback Singer (Male) Pehli Nazar Main - RaceNominated2010Filmfare AwardsBest Playback Singer Tu Jaane Na [7]NominatedIIFA AwardsBest Playback Singer (Male) Tu Jaane Na[8]NominatedGIMA AwardsBest Playback Singer (Male) Tu Jaane Na[9]NominatedAlso known asAadeeBornWazirabad, Gujranwala, Pakistan12 March 1983 (age 27)OriginLahore, PakistanGenresHip Hop,Romance,RockOccupationsMusician, Singer, Lyricist, ActorInstrumentsGuitarYears active2002-presentLabelsPakistan - Fire RecordsIndia - TipsAssociated actsStrings, Jal, Hadiqa Kiyani, Shreya Ghoshal, Alka Yagnik, Sachin Gupta, Pritam, Alisha ChinaiWebsiteOfficial WebsitelightssmallClick to edit Master title style
