VoIP, known as Voice over Internet Protocol, is the technology that improved communication by allowing telephone calls to be possible via the internet. With the use of internet protocol (IP) the analog voice signals were converted into digital data packets providing two-way conversations in real-time

VoIP simply means that we can now make phone calls over the internet. Unlike the traditional phone calls we knew, there’s no need to avail phone service from phone networks.

VoIP would not operate alone, it has necessary things to be able to work. Since it is running entirely based on the internet, you shouldn’t forget to have a high speed internet connection, PC, VoIP adapter, cable modem, LAN network, IP phone and a VoIP service plan.

Technically, VoIP requires two VoIP modem during a conversation. It converts the analog signal to digital and back again. The modem takes the voice signal from the phone that is sending and convert it into digital packets. It transmits these digital packets over the internet address to the second modem. The digital packets were converted by the second modem back in the analog voice signal and sends it to the receiving phone.

It may sound very complicated, but it is surely easy to set up and use. You may use it personally or for your business.

Hence, if you have an inadequate internet connection that would not be good. You could not use it efficiently. It may increase your dropped call rates and would may encounter poor voice quality as well.
