What are my preloading options?

Method #1:

using your favorite SFTP

finished, contact eFolder

How long does SFTP upload take?

•To avoid bottlenecks, use a

computer with a modern CPU and a

minimal processing load when you

run the SFTP client and transfers.

•Use an SFTP client that has

connection buffer optimization

(dynamic buffering). We recommend

WinSCP, which can be optimized

using the settings in this guide.

•Use directly-attached SATA or USB

3.0 drives for storing the preload

dataset.

What do I need to use SFTP?

• You’ll need an SFTP account

• We will create your account and

email you instructions for the next

steps to take.

• Once you have an SFTP account

with us, you may upload preload

datasets whenever you like, then

email support@efolder.net when

they are ready for processing.

How do I decide the best preload method?

Internet preloading with an SFTP account,

Transit times/costs to and from eFolder:

• UPS Ground averages seven business

days

and is free for eFolder Partners

• UPS 2nd day averages four business

with a $50 service charge

• UPS Overnight averages 2 business

with a $150 service charge

Example: On a typical cable Internet connection (30Mbits/s upload), you will need less time to send 1000 GB over SFTP than is needed for our free seven day shipping option.

More about shipping:

• If it takes longer than seven days to upload your preload using SFTP,

consider using an eFolder hard drive instead.

• Our default shipping option is free to partners. Your drive ships via UPS

Ground, and a UPS 2nd-day return shipping label will be included. Limit

is 10 drives per month per partner.

• There are two expedited shipping options available for a fee:

$50 = UPS 2nd day air to you | UPS 2nd day air back to eFolder

$150 = UPS Overnight to you | UPS Overnight back to eFolder

• Please note that none of the shipping options above deliver on Saturday.

• Preload drives are shipped from our data center Monday through

Friday, excluding all major US holidays. Requests for preload drives

submitted after 3:00 pm MST/MDT will be processed the following

business day.

• You can preload multiple accounts on one drive as long as the total data is less than 4 TB.

• If you need help determining whether your initial preload backup size exceeds 4 TB, contact

support@efolder.net

• If your initial preload backup size DOES exceed 4 TB, submit a ticket support@efolder.net A

support engineer will contact you to verify the amount of data and assess your needs.

• You can mount the preload drive instead of using the USB cable because the 4 TB preload

drives can be removed from the enclosure and interfaced directly via SATA.

• You have 14 days to return the drive to eFolder, starting from the date you received it
