WELCOME TO THE Anaerobic Digestion & Biogas Conference

Anaerobic Digestion (AD) and the resultant biogas industry is at a tipping point. An enhanced focus on carbon neutrality, the circular economy and a wide range of successful projects abound, showing the vast opportunity for the market. However, challenges in financing projects, competing with cheap electricity from natural gas and even levels of public acceptance still need to be overcome.

Regulations coming in between 2016 and 2020 are looking very positive for the industry, in regard to increases of organic wastes available for anaerobic digestion and siting of facilities, as well as the USA’s overarching carbon neutrality goals.

Opportunities for biogas are growing; including pipeline injection of biogas for power, biogas for transportation fuel and valuable by-products. According to the Biogas Opportunities Roadmap (2014), the US has over 2,000 sites producing biogas and more than 11,000 additional biogas systems could be employed to handle organic waste and produce energy and biogas system co-products.

If fully realized, the American Biogas Council believes these biogas systems could produce enough energy to power 3.5 million American homes and reduce emissions equivalent to removing 800,000 to 11 million passenger vehicles from the road.

The importance for all interested stakeholders to work in concert to create a robust biogas market in the US cannot be understated. From those leading the way from federal Government policymakers, city and state representatives, project developers and financiers to those who aren’t yet sure of the value to them, but are committed to renewables.

The 4th annual Anaerobic Digestion and Biogas Summit 2015 will bring all of these parties together to highlight successes, examine the key challenges the industry is facing, question the policy makers at federal and state level, decide what technology will fit their needs…and ultimately leave having pushed the dialogue forward, met potential customers and gained insight in how to overcome key industry challenges to get new projects off the ground.

We are delighted to host some of the most respected and focussed speakers across the entire value chain that are committed to driving the industry forward from the top down:

Emilio Camacho, Chief of Staff to Commissioner David Hochschild, California Energy Commission

Gil Friend, Chief Sustainability Officer, City of Palo Alto

Chris Cassidy, Renewable Energy Advisor, USDA

John May, Investor, Stern Brothers

Kathleen Ligocki, CEO, Harvest Power

Jim Potter, President, AgEnergy USA

Mark Williams, General Manager, Las Gallinas Valley Sanitary District

Daniel Fishman, Technology Manager, U.S. Department of Energy

Jim Lucas, Market Development Manager, SoCal Gas

Eric Herbert, CEO, Zero Waste Energy

Trina Martynowicz, Sustainability & Innovative Technology Lead, US EPA

These are just some of the top names speaking from across the industry. 250+ attendees will attend the Summit joining the 25+ top level speakers and some of the most cutting edge solution providers. But that’s just the start. You’re also guaranteed to make the high-level contacts you need to drive your project pipeline forward. You’ll sit in on unique case studies not available from any other source. And you’ll go back to the office armed with a wealth of ideas and information to accelerate the growth of your biogas business.

Increasing the Project Pipeline and Cementing the Future of Anaerobic Digestion (AD) and Biogas

Through hundreds of hours of research with over 60 key stakeholders it has become clear that the industry is focused on getting projects into the ground and reducing costs. So in the agenda we have focused on just that – the biggest challenges facing technology commercialization and project development will be addressed, tackled and overcome. Here is a small taster of what you can expect at the summit:

• Hear from leading policy makers including the U.S. Department of Energy, California Energy Commission, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), City of Palo Alto, to understand the market drivers for Anaerobic Digestion (AD) and Biogas and how policy is supporting the commercialization and large-scale deployment of AD and Biogas technologies

• Get key lessons learned from companies that have developed large-scale projects in the United States, including AgEnergy USA, Harvest Power and Biogas Energy, to see how they have proved the value of their project and reduced risks for financiers

• Get exclusive case studies to identify project challenges and strengthen your development strategy to save time, frustration and money, with insight from SoCal Gas, Las Gallinas Valley Sanitary District and East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD)

If you want to claim a share of the market, and get answers to your greatest challenges, then Anaerobic Digestion and Biogas Summit 2015 (December 2-3, San Diego) is one event you simply cannot afford to miss. Seats at the conference are limited and will sell out, so secure your place TODAY and save money by taking advantage of our early booking discounts.
