c. After reading, the representatives will give the report back to the proctor.

member and pass it up to the last member.

e. The last member will write the report in front.

ACTIVITY TITLE: SANDWICH PREPARATION

MATERIALS : PICTURES

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Divide the class into two groups.

2. Each group will be asked to form a circle.

3. Each group will be given a set of pictures which are in incorrect order.

4. Instructions will be given to them orally:

a. The pictures you have right now is a step by step process of preparing a

sandwich.

b. The proctor will be reading the script to the two groups twice. The first time they

will listen and for the second time they will attempt to arrange the pictures in

order.

c. After reading the script twice, the proctor will give 3 minutes for each group to

finalize their work.

d. Each group will post the pictures in the order they have decided.

5. The group that will have the correct order wins.

HOW TO PREPARE A SANDWICH:

Preparing a sandwich is easy. It only requires ingredients you can actually find in you

fridge. It is also easy to prepare. Another good thing is that it only takes little time for

preparation. You may also add ingredients should you decide to make one. So are you ready to

make a sandwich? Ok let’s go!

1. You need a slice of ham, a roll, some lettuce, some butter and some mayonnaise.

2. First cut the buns in half.

3. Butter the two pieces of buns.

4. Put the ham onto the bottom half of the roll.

5. Spread a little mayonnaise onto the ham. Be careful! Not too much!

6. Now put some lettuce on top of the ham.

7. Put the top of the roll on top and press it down.

8. Eat it!

ACTIVITY TITLE: DESCRIBE ME!

MATERIALS : PICTURES

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Ask the class to form dyads.

2. Each group will be asked to sit in opposite directions.

3. A student will be given a script while the other student will be given a picture.

4. The picture is related to the picture. However some descriptions in the script are not

true. What the student needs to do is to encircle parts of the picture that is not consistent

to the script.

5. After that, the partner will switch places.

SAMPLE SCRIPT:

This is a nice comfortable room, with sofa chairs, television and a rug. What a lovely little

puppy under the table. And there are plates and cups on the table…and spoons, forks, and

knives…and a vase with a tree in it. Behind the table on the wall there’s a picture of a horse,

and if you look out the window you can see the full moon shining on the area.

3. Give each student a pair of handouts. One is the activity and the other are the directions.

4. One of the pair will be read the instructions twice to the student holding the activity

sheet.

5. After listening to his/her partner the pair will switch places.

Script:

Give your partner these directions. Then check the grid for accurate communication and

comprehension.

1. Start by putting the number 1 in the B2 square.

2. Now go right 3 spaces and down 4 spaces. Put a 2 in the square.

3. From there, go right 4 spaces and down 2 spaces. Put 3 in the square.

4. From there, go right 7 spaces and put a 4 on in the square.

5. From there, go up 5 spaces and left 2 spaces. Put a 5 in the square.

6. Now go left 3 spaces and up 1 space. Put a 6 in the square.

7. Go left 4 squares and down 5 spaces. Put a 7 in the square.

8. From there, go left spaces and up 5 spaces. Put a 8 in that square.
