Willie shows abstract paintings and drawings that encompass themes of color, balance, and repetition. Laura Figa’s work is filled with boxed up spaces, which appear to become disassembled, urgent line work, densely built up media, and material re-appropriation, all of which discuss the temporality of assigned meaning. 2 6 PM | Passionflower Design (128 E Broadway) Send a beautiful handmade Valentine’s Day card! Local letterpress artist Kristin Walker from Twin Ravens Press will speak about running a small letterpress shop and give people the opportunity to try using the press, while Eugene Calligraphy Guild members demonstrate their craft hand addressing cards purchased in store. Also discover handmade cards from local artists Becky Tonkin, Bev Soasey, Judith Sparks, and Rogene Manas. 3 6:30 PM | OUT ON A LIMB Gallery (191 E Broadway) - Highlight! Printmaker Heather Halpern, co-owner of Whiteaker Printmakers, a community printmaking art studio in Eugene, shows a variety of her work. She states, “The bulk of my recent work is an expression of pain, tempered by hope. I sought solace in the creative process, as I struggled to make sense of some significant losses.To reflect my sense of despair, my monotype plates started as massive black expanses. I pulled out limited lights to stress darkness and isolation, and to indicate glimmers of hope.” 4 7 PM | InEugene Real Estate (100 E Broadway) InEugene Real Estate exhibits work by Jerry Ross, including old and new paintings related to Italian history and society, Hooft family portraits, abstract landscapes, portraits of his wife Angela, and abstract figurative works. 5 7:30 PM | Euphoria Chocolate Company (946 Willamette St) Taking over the walls and windows for the February ArtWalk is the show “Labors of Love,” featuring quilts by the Eugene Modern Quilt Guild. Modern quilting is a twist on the traditional art of quilting. Modern quilts have a varied style, but the most common characteristics are bold use of colors and prints, high contrast and graphic areas of solid color, improvisational piecing, minimalism, expansive negative space, and/or alternate grid work. 8 MECCA (449 Willamette St)“Waste into Wonderful,” by artist Kat Witt. This exhibition challenges us to think differently about unwanted materials, with handmade pieces including multimedia works incorporating 3D and lighting effects, fashion design and textiles, and acrylic oil color paper mache printmaking.

9 The New Zone Gallery (164 W Broadway) “Christie Brunson 2015-2016,” work in clay and fabric; “Out of the Kiln, Part 2: Works in Clay & Glass” by Patti Lomont; the theme show “All You Need is Love”; and work by Megan Borns and Shania Hopson, student interns from the Academy of Arts and Academics. Music: Chico Schwall on guitar.

10 Pacific Rim Art Guild & Gallery (160 E Broadway, basement) “Life in the Sea,” acrylics by Chuck North; “Grapes in Chinese Brush

Style,” Chinese watercolors by Sandi Grubbs; and “East Meets West Fusion,” works by watercolorist Joneile Emery. Music: Kat Kaufman and Branden Curran, guitar duo with vocals.

11 Shadowfox (76 W Broadway) “Captured Light; Roaming Shadows,” a series of custom lamps and lanterns. From geometric to abstract, these intricate pieces combine warm light and delicate shadows, bringing a unique glow to any brisk winter day.

12 Vistra Framing & Gallery (160 E Broadway) “Postcards From the Edge,” a collection of small work perfect for a tiny house or vacant wall spot.

26 No Shame Eugene at the Atrium (99 W 10th Ave) The doors open at 7:30pm with live music. The show begins at 8pm with fifteen original, 5-minute acts including monologues, sketch

comedy, and the experimental. Each show is comprised of the first fifteen acts to register with the host when doors open - come as a performer, or no shame in just watching!

20 ECO Sleep Solutions and Gallery (25 E 8th Ave) Felted wool home décor and apparel by Tylar Merrill; clay tile collages by Annie Heron; wall art by Mari Livie; whimsical hand painted wood, linen, and silk pieces by Lybi Thomas; stone carvings, wood sculptures and imaginative, fanciful masks by Cedar Caredio; and Luminessence light sculptures by Stephen White.

21 Eugene Public Library (100 W 10th Ave) “Life In-Between: Paintings by Suma Z. Elan” on exhibit through February (2nd floor). Concert: “The Food of Love - Shakespeare’s Music.” The Oregon Bach Collegium plays songs and instrumental pieces inspired by Shakespeare during his lifetime and in the 400 years since, emceed by The Bard himself. Starts at 6pm.

22 gilt+gossamer (873 Willamette St)“Creatures of Wild Dreams,” work by Marilyn Kent. The show features bird-human hybrids adorned in surreal fashions and in Dr.Suess-like places, as well as bird and sea creature paintings and collages.

23 Harlequin Beads and Jewelry (1027 Willamette St) Jewelry by local artists. Closes 6pm.
