DIOS NOS ELIGIÓ ¿Quién eligió primero, Dios o ti? Esa es la pregunta que exploramos en las tres lecturas de hoy. La segunda lectura, la carta de Pablo a los Efesios, se lee casi como un himno. Es una alabanza a Dios por habernos escogido, habernos llamado a servir, y por bendecirnos en nuestro servicio. Pablo deja en claro el gran honor que hemos recibido y lo especial que es la llamada a vivir como hijos de Dios. Esto no es por nuestros méritos. La primera lectura y el Evangelio usan prosa en vez de poesía para describir la misma verdad: Dios nos escogió, no nosotros. Cuando el profeta Amós fue criticado por ser un profeta, respondió que, en primer lugar, el asunto no era su idea. Tampoco los doce apóstoles en el Evangelio de hoy pidieron su llamado. Jesús los envió de dos en dos, para hacer el trabajo de su Reino.

LA VIRGEN DEL CARMEN Mañana celebramos la fiesta de Nuestra Señora del Carmen, reconocida en Chile como Maipú. Chile es un país con mucha industria marinera y la Virgen del Carmen es la patrona de los marineros por el peligro al cual se exponen en el mar. Los frailes Carmelitas han difundido la devoción a la Virgen del monte Carmelo desde el siglo XIII. En aquella época María regaló el escapulario al general de los Carmelitas, Simón Stock, prometiendo que todos los que lo usasen serían recibidos por ella en

el cielo, evitando así el infierno. Con el tiempo el escapulario Carmelitano se modificó para uso de todo cristiano. Por esto ella es patrona de todo oficio que tiene peligro de muerte como el de los soldados, camioneros, pilotos, troqueros, etc. Por entender el escapulario como algo mágico, Nuestra Señora del Carmen ha sido tomada como patrona de los pandilleros porque viven en peligro de ser matados en sus riñas callejeras. Piensan que llevar puesto el escapulario es lo necesario para evitar el infierno e ignoran que usar el escapulario es vivir como María, en paz y al servicio de los demás.

pueden poner todo junto en un sobre y depositarlo en la canasta de la colecta cuando vienen a misa.

Recuerden que habrá cuatro premios primer premio $5,000; segundo premio $2,500

tercer premio $1,000; cuarto premio $500.

CLASES DE CATECISMO

En este año estaremos ofreciendo clases de catecismo para niños de (5) años. Esta clase será muy divertida y los

niños aprenderán varias cosas. Los invitamos a que inscriban a sus niños en las clases de catecismo lo más pronto posible!

Pueden dar parte de la inscripción y hacer abonos si lo necesitan hacer de esa manera. Ningún niño debe

quedarse sin asistir a las clases de catecismo por razones económicas, estamos para ayudarlos a todos.
