OVE T. ROE

MR. SPEAh-ER: Your committee, appointed to prepare a suitable resolution commemorating the life, eharacter, and public service of the late Honorable Ove T. Tioe, begs leave to submit the following- memorial:

Ove T. Roe was born in Allamakee County, September 4, 1887. He was the son of Mr. and l\Ies. Tolef Roe. He married Emma Kolsrud of Waterville, Iowa, and four sons and one daughter were born to them.

Mr. Roe received his early education in the rural schools and Upper Iowa University at FayPtte, Iowa. He was president of the Paint Creek Farmers Telephone Company and a membe1· of the Lutheran Church. He followed the occupation of fanning 1\·ith the exception of eight years while he was engaged in business with hi s bruther. i\lr. Roe was a member of the House of Representath·es in the Forty-foui'th, Forty-fifth, Forty-fifth Extra, Forty-~ixth. Forty-sixth Extra, anri Forty-seventh General .Assemblies and was artiv.o in Democratic politics for many years.

He passed away Octob<>r 26, 19GV, and is survived by his children: Thomas, l\Ielyin and vVillarrJ. of ·waukon. Iowa; Kenneth of Mesa, Arizona, and Doris of Phoenix. Arizona; a brother : 2:3 g.randchildren, and ten great grandchildren.
