Chandigarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.

As per requirement of section 40 and 62 of the Building and Other Construction Workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Services) Act, 1996, the Chandigarh Administration has notified Chandigarh Building and Other Construction Workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2009 vide notification published in the official gazette dated 17th September, 2009. Besides this, the Chandigarh Administration has also appointed the following authorities under the Act and Rules. 1. Labour Commissioner as Appellate Authority 2. Assistant Labour Commissioner as Registering

Authority. 3. Labour Commissioner as Chief Inspector under the

Act. 4. All Labour Inspectors has been notified to be Inspector

under the Act.

It is further stated that the following staff have been notified under the Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Cess Rules, 1998.

1. Maintaining of record of Chandigarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board meeting and preparing the agenda items, action taken report minutes of the meeting as well as implementation of the decision of the meeting. 2. Supervising the account of the Board and get the audit of the accounts annually from the Comptroller Audit General of India. 3. Settlement of audit objection raised during the course of audited of accounts by the Comptroller Audit General of India. 4. Correspondence for registration of contractor establishments and maintaining the record thereof. 5. Supervision the work of grant pension to the Building workers after attaining the age of sixty years and other welfare schemes. 7. Preparing of quarterly report for submission to the G.O.I. 8. Processing the case of deposit of labour cess and dping all correspondence thereof. 9. All correspondence work of the Board office. 10. Any other work entrusted from time to time. II. Senior Assistant :

1. All correspondence of RSBY collection of Data maintaining of Data and other connected work of RSBY.

2. Process the application regarding Skill Development of the Children of the beneficiary workers.

3. To supervise the working of Mobile Dispensary and to prepare chart for visiting the construction places by the team of Mobile Dispensary and to ensure that the team of Mobile Dispensary should work at least 4 to 5 hours daily.

4. To supervise the working of No Due Certificate. 5. All correspondence for holding of Advisory

Committee meeting constituted under the Building & Other Construction Workers Act.

6. Any other work assigned to him from time to time.

III. Clerk-I : 1. Issue notices related to depositing the cess

amount. 2. Issue NOCs. 3. Matter related to the skill development schemes. 4. Matters related to RSBY Project.

report regarding implementation of the ongoing beneficiary schemes.

4. Dealing of all beneficiary schemes. 5. Liaison with the workers Union leaders and to

providing information with respect to the beneficiary schemes.

6. Registration of the new contractors establishments.

7. Any other work assigned to him from time to time.

V. Clerk-III :

1. Maintenance of all accounts book. 2. Processing of all the matter related to the

purchases being done by the Board. 3. Conciliation of the bank account. 4. Computerization of the Cess amount being

collected by the Board. 5. Preparation of the salary related to the employees

of the Board. 6. Maintenance of the petty cash records. 7. Liaison with the Estate office UT for collection of

cess amount. 8. Liaison with CA of the Board for all type of tax

related matters and finalization of the balance sheet.

9. Diary Dispatch. 10. All matters related to Mobile Dispensary Project. 11. Any other work assigned to him. VI. Staff Nurse)

1. Accompanied with the Doctor of mobile Dispensary

providing medical care to the building workers at construction sites.

2. The medicines are distributed to the workers and their family members on the basis of medicine prescribed on out door patient prescribed by the Doctor.

3. Maintaining of record of medicine, outdoor patient record register or any other duty assigned to her from time to time by the Doctor.

4. Daily report is to be prepared for submission to the ALC.

5. Any other work entrusted to her.
