In the SMART CITIES CHALLENGEparticipants can incorporateinformation and communicationtechnologies (ICT) to enhancethe quality and performance ofurban services such as ENERGY,TRANSPORTATION UTILITIES (water supply, garbage disposaletc) and COMMERCE in order toreduce resource consumption,wastage and overall costs.Participants may use anytechnology in order to develop asystem which must enhance thequality of living of citizensthrough smart technology.
The HEALTHCARE CHALLENGE isa platform for developingproducts which can help doctorsmake more accurate diagnostics,and allowing them to reach morepatients than ever before, byutilizing technologies likeMachine Learning, AI and IoT.Participants can aim to developideas for actual products orprototypes in order to make adifference for patients as well ashealthcare professionals aroundthe globe.

FINANCIAL TECHNOLOGIESinclude any technologicalinnovation in the financial sector,including advances in financialliteracy, advice and education, aswell as streamlining of wealthmanagement, lending andborrowing, retail banking,fundraising, money transfers/payments, investment manage-ment and more. CYBER SECURITYrefers to the body oftechnologies, processes, andpractices designed to protectnetworks, devices, programs,and data from attack, damage, orunauthorized access.
The digital transformation of themedia and entertainmentindustry has resulted in adynamic and evolving ecosystemthat has become increasinglycomplex and has introduced newchallenges in the area of digitalrights, advertising, augmentedreality, virtual reality, mixedreality, etc. The MEDIA &ENTERTAINMENT challenge aimsto identify innovative productsthat cater to the needs of themedia industry.
Are there any registration fees ?No. You can take part in Hack Summit for free!
Who can take part ?Students pursuing their Undergraduate or Post Graduate Course in any field of study, like basicsciences, engineering, medical, dental, computer application etc can participate in theHackathon. Bonafide student certificate or a valid ID is mandatory.
What do I make ?There are 4 challenges in the Hackathon, you must submit a hack that is pertaining to one ofthese challenges.We know it isn’t easy to present a completely developed concept, you may submit whatever it is that you have developed in the allotted time.
What should I bring ?You need to bring your PERSONAL LAPTOPS, mobile phones and any other devices with thenecessary software.Wi-Fi/LAN connection and tech support for connecting your personal devices to the samewould be available.You are welcome to bring your own additional components, you foresee the need for it. Kindlynote that printed boards/circuits, readymade kits/devices are not allowed. The organizers willnot be held responsible for any loss/damage to any property.
It can be either a Hardware or a software implementation.
How many members are allowed in a team ?A team can have 2 to 4 members. The team members can be from different Academic levels (Year of study/programme), but must be from the same University/Institute.Once a team has registered, changes in the team members will not be entertained.
Can I leave in the middle ?One member of the team has to be present at all times during the event, failing that wouldlead to disqualification of the team.
How will my work be judged ?Your work will be judged by judges from industries and experienced academicians. Evaluationwill be based on the hack that has been developed and the pitch. The design aspect of theproject, the technology used in the project, the relevance of the project and its real-worldpotential will be judged.
What facilities will be available at the venue ?WiFi or LAN service will be available throughout the duration of the event.Food & Beverage facilities will be provided at the venue for all participants.Common rooms for relaxation and refreshment will be arranged by the organizers.
