FUTURE TENSE El tema Future Tense lo encontrar

en su libro Gua Didctica , pgina 73; as como en los Enlaces Interesantes, Bibliogrficos y Auto-evaluaciones del curso.

En el tiempo del

Usamos GOING TO cuando queremos expresar un acontecimiento futuro ms certero, es decir

que es bastante claro que algo va a suceder.

Compare :

EXAMPLES:

1.- Look ! It s going to rain.

2.- Perhaps it will snow tomorrow.

En la oracin 1 tienes un indicador de que va a llover ( podran ser las nubes ). Y, en la oracin 2 no tienes ningn indicador certero, ests

prediciendo algo que puede que suceda o no.

FUTURE TENSE with GOING TO

EXAMPLES: AFFIRMATIVE: SUBJECT ( PRONOUN ) + VERB

TO BE + GOING TO + INFINITIVE VERB + COMPLEMENT

1. I am going to be an administrator in four years. ( Im going to be an administrator in four years. )

2. She is going to help you tomorrow. (Shes going to help you tomorrow.) Remember: El verbo To Be (IS, AM, ARE ) debe

estar acorde con el nombre o pronombre.

FUTURE TENSE with GOING TO

NEGATIVE: SUBJECT ( PRONOUN ) + VERB TO BE + NOT + GOING TO + INFINITIVE VERB + COMPLEMENT

1. I am not going to study tomorrow.

( Im not going to study tomorrow. )

2. They are not going to fly to Europe in two hours.

(They arent going to fly to Europe in two hours.)

INTERROGATIVE: TO BE + SUBJECT ( PRONOUN ) + GOING TO + INFINITIVE VERB + COMPLEMENT ?

1. A: Are you going to travel to Iquitos next

weekend ?

B: No, we arent.

2. A: Is Roberta going to work in that restaurant ?

B: No, she isnt.

Remember: En una oracin interrogativa se debe colocar primero el verbo To Be, luego, vienen los dems elementos de la oracin.

INFORMATION QUESTIONS:

1. A: What are you going to do

next week ?

B: I am going to prepare my

work.

2. A: When is Julia going to

sell her house ?

B: She is going to sell her

house next Monday.

INFORMATION QUESTIONS

Cuando una pregunta empieza con un auxiliar, en este caso

WILL se le llama YES NO Question, lo mismo pasa con

aquellas preguntas que comienzan con el verbo To Be;

por lo tanto, podemos responderlas con YES o con NO.

Pero en las preguntas de informacin debemos emplear

palabras que empiezan con WH -, las mismas que sern

utilizadas al inicio de la oracin Interrogativa sumadas a la

estructura de una pregunta de YES NO.

What = Qu ?

Where = Dnde ?

Why = Por qu ?

When = Cundo ?

How = Cmo ?

INFORMATION QUESTIONS:

Examples:

1.- A: What will your brother do tomorrow?

(Qu har tu hermano maana?)

B: He will play soccer with his friends.

(Jugar ftbol con sus amigos.)

2.- A: Where will they have lunch next weekend?

(Dnde almorzarn ellos el prximo fin de semana?)

B: They will have lunch at home.

(Ellos almuerzan en casa.)

3.- A: Why are you going to study French?

(Por qu vas a estudiar francs?)

B: Because I like languages.

(Porque me gustan los idiomas.)

4.- A: When is she going to wash her clothes?

(Cundo va a lavar ella su ropa?)

B: In two hours.

(En dos horas.)

INFORMATION QUESTIONS:

Si analizaste las oraciones habrs notado que la

estructura de estas es la misma que hemos

empleado para las preguntas con el auxiliar

WILL o el verbo TO BE, slo estamos agregando

una palabra al inicio de la oracin, la cual

corresponde a una pregunta de informacin.

A: When ?

B: Next Saturday.

INFORMATION QUESTIONS:

will he wash the car

Si observas la oracin del

recuadro, te podrs dar cuenta

que la estructura corresponde

a un Yes No question, lo que significa que se

puede responder con

yes or no.

Si a este Yes No question, le agregamos una palabra de

informacin, como WHEN, se convierte

en un Information Question, donde el

objetivo es responder a esta palabra,

lo que se cumple en la respuesta.

REMEMBER: En el futuro con WILL se utilizan los verbos

simples ( sin TO ) en su forma infinitiva. El futuro con Going To debe utilizar el verbo To Be ( am, is , are ).
