WEST GATE FREEWAY CONCRETE BARRIER NIGHT WORKS: MONDAY 23 TO THURSDAY 26 NOVEMBER, SUNDAY 29 AND MONDAY 30 NOVEMBER 2015
The CityLink Tulla Widening project involves adding lanes and other measures to improve the flow of traffic across the 24 kilometre section of freeway from the CityLink tunnels to Melbourne Airport. The project will also provide travel time savings per trip between Melbourne Airport and the West Gate Freeway during peak periods.
The project will deliver a safer, more reliable freeway. Generally, an additional lane is being added in each direction, as well as upgrades at key interchanges including Bell Street, Mount Alexander Road/Flemington Road and on the Bolte Bridge to West Gate Freeway entry ramp.
Leighton Contractors is the construction contractor for the Bulla Road to Power Street section of the project.
Where we will beWithin our Meaden Street site compound, works will be carried out on the elevated structure from underneath the West Gate Freeway, as indicated on the map below.
When works will occurWorks will occur between 9pm to 5am from Monday 23 to Thursday 26 November 2015. Drilling works will occur between 9pm to 5am Sunday 29 and Monday 30 November 2015.

What we are doingInvestigation works of the West Gate Freeway in this area. This will involve:
Using an elevated platform to reach underneath the West Gate Freeway Cutting the edges of the existing concrete barrier on the freeway with a saw cutter Undertaking some drilling works on the freeway Drilling into the side of the elevated structure Temporary installation of light pole brackets.
What to expect A small team of construction personnel at work Noise from cutting and drilling into the freeway.
