Features:
s Mechanical ConnectorConductor Jointing is easy to achieve with the use of ourmechanical type connector. Manufactured from aluminium alloy, the connector has a removable bridge piece to aid in conductorinsertion, while final connection is through torque controlledshear bolts. All of our connectors are tested and conform to IEC61238 and BS4579 Standards showing our dedication toproduct safety and quality assurance.
s Connector HousingThe MIRP joint features a unique design whereby insulation
reinstatement and stress control are provided by a quick fitrubber housing. The incorporation of a semi-conducting layer aspart of the dual construction housing effectively and efficientlyaddresses and removes high concentrations of electrical stress atthe connector interface.
We guarantee maximum security of our insulating housings byconducting 100% factory pre-testing. No other materials orprocesses are needed to effect a safe and totally reliableinsulated system.
s Earth Fault and Screen ProtectionA punched aluminium earth cage, installed over the jointed cores
provides both earth fault continuity and effective earth screening. The completed joint has undergone extensive short circuit testingand readily meets the requirements of CENELEC - HD629.2, UKElectricity Council Recommendation - ERC 90, KemaSpecification - 52.
s Polyurethane Resin EncapsulationThis material has many unique design features and as with manyother WT Henley products, has been continually updated to meetthe needs of today’s cable designs and constructions. Thisproduct is totally compatible with all current cable types, isthermally stable, resistant to water ingress and possesses highimpact strength making available to the world-wide electricaldistribution industry, a fast, efficient, cost effective and provenmethod of joint encapsulation.
s Joint ShellThe vacuum formed styrene joint shell is designed to provide aprofiled moulding into which the resin encapsulant is poured. The shell is tailored to provide adequate resin coverage of internal components whilst minimising resin use.
s InstallationThis range of joints has been designed with ease of use in mind.Whilst jointing skills are necessary for those preparing and
jointing cables, we believe that with this quick and easy to installjoint, jointing productivity can be improved.
s Current End UsersEnergex, Integral Energy, EnergyAustralia & Aurora Energy.
Designed to accept a wide range of 3-core
and single core 11kV cables, the MouldedInsulation Resin Protected (MIRP) joint catersfor conductor sizes up to 400 sqmm.
From paper insulated to polymeric cable, thisinnovative MIRP joint is designed by WTHenley for straight through, parallel branch, stub tee, stop end and transition jointing.

The compound sets solid within a plastic mould
box and completely insulates, seals and protects
the joints. It will not subsequently soften.
s No Delay in Back Filling
Back filling can proceed at any time after the
joint is filled with compound, provided the joint is
supported and not disturbed.
s Type TestTo Engineering Recommendation C81/3.
Basic kit comprises a pair of strong plastic mould
boxes, sealing foam and clips, jointing instructions
and polyurethane resin compound.

HENLEY Polyurethane Resin Compound
This polyurethane compound has been specificallydeveloped for filling cable joint boxes and
terminations, and is environmental friendly.
It is also suitable for many applications where water-
tightness and mechanical protection are required.
The compound is suitable for use with paper or
polymeric cables up to 1000 volts. It also provides
secondary insulation and mechanical protection to
medium voltage cable joints up to 22kV provided it is
not subject to significant electrical stress.
s Tough but resilient when set – provides electrical
insulation and mechanical protection.
s Sets within an hour and does not go through a
‘cheesy’ phase (when a slight disturbance can
cause cracking).
s Content includes two-part high quality resin and
hardener which are supplied and mixed in aclosed foil bag. Can be further mixed with sand in
a plastic bucket.

HENLEY Polyurethane Resin Compound
PropertiesThe resin is a blend of complex polyols with selectedadditives formulated to give a stable productspecifically suited to the requirements of a cablejointing compound.
Pot life is controlled to give adequate time for mixingand pouring; setting takes place with a gradualincrease in viscosity to give a rubber-like solid withinabout an hour. Hardness gradually increases forapproximately the next twenty-four hours.

“Emperor” Cable CleatsIt is versatile in design and application, suitable forlow, medium and high voltage single and multi-corecables. It can accommodate an extensive range of cable diameters in trefoil and single cable formation.
A range-taking version of the “Emperor” is alsoavailable for where exact cable diameters are notknown, or where cable tolerances affect the givencable diameter.
Key Features:
s Type 316 stainless steel frame offers ultimateprotection against the harshest corrosiveconditions
s The frame base offers a dual fixing option of 2x10mm or 1 x 12mm fixing
s Integral liner and base pad in a flame retardant,LSF zero halogen polymeric material which, in theevent of fire, emits low smoke and fumes
s The liner also provides protection for the cable andcushions the cables during short- circuit conditions, helping to avoid cable damage
The “Emperor” cleat’s compact design means that the“Emperor” takes up a minimum amount of space oncable ladder rung or any suitable cable managementsystem. It is quick and easy to install, which can leadto significant savings on installation costs.
Testing and Certification:
The “Emperor” cleat is certified to withstand ‘Short-Time and Peak Withstand Test Current’ of up to 72kARMS (154kA peak) at 0.3 second, and 81kA RMS(166kA peak) at 0.1 second. Such results make the“Emperor” one of the strongest cleats on the market.
“Vulcan” Cable CleatsIt is extremely versatile with its slim light frame, offering easy installation where space is limited. It canaccommodate cables in 1, 3 or 4 formation up to120mm in outside diameter.
Similar to the “Emperor” cleat, it is constructed of Type316 stainless steel with an inner liner of LSF zerohalogen polymeric material.
The “Vulcan” cleat has been tested and certified towithstand ‘Short-Time and Peak Withstand TestCurrent’ of up to 43kA RMS (93.6kA peak) at0.1 second.
