It quickly became my dream to spend my days near this great beauty called Lake of the Woods. I feel blessed that I was able to find my wife here who loves the lake and this life as much as I do.

After 39 years of hard work I am so proud to see my children thriving in their roles at each lodge watching Eric Jr run Totem, Stephanie run yellowbird and Dustin run Wiley Point. We look forward to passing our business and love of the lake on to my children and our grandchildren.

The greatest joy of all is seeing the happy faces of our long-time great loyal guests year after year as well as my kids and our grandkids enjoying their lives here as much as we do. What a great place to raise a family and be able to run such a great business too – a real dream come true!

Our family was blessed with a new addition in May, Dustin’s first son, Rush James Brown. The three of us each have a child of our own now. They are all happy and healthy!

The most significant thing we are grateful for in the past is the support from our family, friends and guests continued prayers and positive thoughts that were sent our family’s way in a time when we really needed it. We couldn’t have done it without all of your love and support!

We are also already looking forward to next year’s summer season! We are excited to see all our returning guests, who have become our friends and part of our Totem family over the years. We are also looking forward to meeting new guests who we will welcome to Totem Resorts with open arms.

I would like to start out by saying thank you to each and every one of our guests for joining us this season and for making 2016 another good year. We would like to extend an extra thank you to all those loyal guests who came and supported us again, as this meant more to us now than ever before! We really take pride in the fact that year after year 90% of our guests return to Totem Resorts.

I enjoy watching them become more and more involved in the family business. My oldest son, Eric Jr., is putting his 22 years of experience in the industry into managing Totem lodge. My daughter Stephanie will be managing her 20th year at yellowbird lodge and my youngest son Dustin will be managing his 8th year at Wiley Point lodge. Sandra and I now oversee everything, as each of the lodges are being managed by one of my children. This really is a dream come true for us. We are a family with the unique opportunity to work together, strive towards our goals together and share in our successes together. We look forward to having our three grandchildren stepping into roles much further down the road.
