PARENTS SUPPORT GROUP

P1 Orientation Sharing


• Provide a voice and a platform for parents of CHIJ‐OLN girls too partner and support the school, o understand the challenges facing our children,

o develop better parent‐child‐school relationship, and

omake a difference to the lives of the students

Our Mission


• Channel for parents to provide feedback for the benefit of the school

• Channel for school to explain their policies and decisions

• Provide academic and non‐academic support for the school’s activities

• Foster better rapport and support among school members, parents and students by organizing educational and social activities

Role of PSG


• Ensure safety / security of students coming into school

• Mon – Fri, 7.00 – 7.40 am

Traffic Marshall / Gate Duty


• Assist students in the canteen• Mon – Fri, 10.00 ‐ 1130am

Recess Duty


• In support of NEA’s recycling programme

• Educate and inculcate recycling habits among students

• Collection of recyclable items, mainly paper materials eg. magazines, newspapers, books, etc.

Recycling


• Facilitate the students’ encounter with their faith during TLC (Mon, 1‐2 pm), Quiet Time and Mothers’ Prayer Group

• Assist in mass / paraliturgy (1x a month)• Open to Catholic parents only

Catholic Activities


Examples:• Teachers’ Day• Children’s Day• Racial Harmony Day• P1 Registration & Orientation

School Events


• Organize PSG performances for school events e.g. Children’s Day

PSG Performances


• Career talks for students • Banner design for Teacher’s Day, Children’s Day, etc.

• Make‐up / costume preparation for school plays, etc.

Ad Hoc School Events


• Regular programmes – daily, weekly, monthly• Ad‐hoc or project basis eg. banner design for school events, school fund raising carnival, dance performance, etc.

How Much Time to Commit


• PARENTS ( or grandparents) who wish to know what is happening in and around school, and who wish to be part of these happenings

• PARENTS who feel the importance of journeying with their daughters

• PARENTS who want to contribute to the safe, enjoyable memories of their daughters’ childhood in school
