Our next gathering of Young Couples will be the evening of August 22, at 7 PM at the rectory at St. Joseph’s in Bertha. The topic will be determined at a later date. Depending on attendance, we may or may not revisit the topic of conscience from which I unceremoni-ously deviated last time. Cathechists Needed: You will grow in your own faith,
learn the teachings of the Church, and deepen your relations with Jesus. Your Baptism called you to share in Jesus’s ministry and you can do this by being a catechist. Call Beverly Geraets if you have questions or would like to share your faith. 28th Annual Christ the King Catholic School Education Raffle
Drawing is Monday, September 14, 2015, 12:45 p.m. in Christ the School gym. Everyone is welcome. Tickets are $100 each. Only 250 tickets are sold. 1st prize $10,000 2nd prize $500 3rd—8th prizes $200 each Tickets are available at the school office and are being sold before and after Sunday morning Mass.
Labels for Learning Christ the King School recently received a check for $496.20 from Coborns Grocery for Labels for Learning points that were sent in May. Points are available on your Coborns receipts. You just need to cut them off and turn them in to the school or put in the church entrance. This is such an easy way to save for Christ the King School. Thank you to all who have already been saving. The grocery receipts now have a new look. Points are listed on the bottom along with the date the points expire.

8:30 p.m. at the River’s Edge Convention Center, St. Cloud. Patrick Trueman will dis-cuss the various ways kids access pornog-raphy, the nature of the pornography they access, and its specific effects on youth. He will also address the effects of television and violent video games (which often in-clude pornographic depictions). Tickets for the general public are $5 in advance and $10 at the door.

The 2015 Rural Life Celebration sponsored by Catholic Charities, the Diocese of St. Cloud and The Catholic Foundation will be held at 11 a.m. on Sunday, August 23, 2015. This year, it will take place at the organic farm of Craig and Joanie Murphy in rural Morris, Minnesota. You can find their farm by following the signs on Highway 59 South or Highway 28 West in Morris. GPS will not lead you to the correct location. This year's celebration features an outdoor Mass at 11 a.m. with Bishop Donald Kettler, immediately followed by a special guest speaker Candace Simar, an award-winning Minnesota author and poet who will speak of growing up on the family farm in Central Minnesota. The day will conclude with a pulled pork picnic lunch at 12:30 p.m. and musical entertainment by Mikko Cowdry. This celebration will take place rain or shine and is being hosted by Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Morris. All are welcome.
