Site Overview:There are five places in the

world where body relics of

Lord Buddha have been

found. One of them is Devni

Mori, Shamlaji , Gujarat,

India. Excavation of the

stupa brought to light an

inscribed casket which

contained relics of Buddha.

The inscription clearly

mentions that the casket

contains bodily relics of

Buddha. The site is

surrounded by a spectacular

and enchanting landscape of

hills and valleys. Close to it

is a Meshwo lake which

merges into the site of

Devnimori.

Future Expansion

Concept:The Concept of the Design is based on The Eight Cardinal Directions altogether superimposed on the

DHARMACHAKRA and the LOTUS, the two of the eight sacred symbols of Buddhism.

Taking this theme, every architecture and landscape detail of this project is designed accordingly.

DevniMori

The design includes the design of the central Stupa, gold and glistening. The stupa

will be 108m high and will be the main focus point of the project. The design and

staging of the components is based on the Triratna philosophy of the Buddhist

religion, viz. Yellow Gem (BUDDHA – Stupa), Red Gem (DHARMA – Chaitya) and the

Blue Gem (SANGHA – Vihara). Also a small sapling from the original Bodhi tree is

thought of to be planted in front of the main stupa, staring it to grow under a full

fledged Bodhi tree and enlighten anyone who meditates under it.

Riverfront development

VISION OF THE PROJECT

1. To create a useable and a beautiful space for The Tribal

opulation for their religious gathering.

2. To revive the importance of the 7th century Shamlaji School

Of Arts .

3. To attract tourism in this Historical town.

Reservoir development

1. The lake front is developed to commemorate the

submerged site of Devni mori and to retrieve the lost

character of the site in that Era.

2. The concept revolves around the Cosmic Mandala,

Eight Cardinal Directions, which symbolizes the

geography of the cosmos. Circles and squares were

added and a mandala came to represent the four

material elements of the universe - earth, water, fire,

wind

Ecotourism

Ecotourism is entirely a new approach in tourism. Ecotourism is a preserving travel to natural areas to

appreciate the cultural and natural history of the environment, taking care not to disturb the integrity of the

ecosystem, while creating economic opportunities that make conservation and protection of natural resources

advantageous to the local people.
