o Posters should include: Illustration of natural resource Name of resource 5 items or products that resource can be used for 2 ways to conserve the resource

    5. Students will share their posters with the class and discuss what their poster includesand why

    6. CLOSURE: Students will write in their social studies journalso Explain something you know about natural resourceso List 3 products of natural resources and where they came from

    F. Assessment: What will you use to measure student understanding?

Informal assessment through journal entries and discussions about posters will be used

    to measure students understanding.

Explain how you will know students understand the concepts from the lesson.I will know students understand the concept when they can accurately name natural

    resources and products they produce.

    G. Reflection:1. Which part of the lesson do you think will be the easiest for you to teach?

I think will overall be an easy lesson to teach. I think the concepts are simple and

students will understand what a resource is and what it produces.

    2. Which part will be most challenging for you to teach?I think the challenging part of this lesson to teach is going to be the act of

conservation. I think 1st graders might be too young to understand its full

importance and why we need to do it.

    3. How will you follow up or extend this lesson?Natural resources and where things come from will a continual topic of

conversation throughout the school year. It is important for students to know that

objects dont just appear but rather they come from somewhere or something.

    4. What will you do for students who dont grasp the concepts?

Like all other topics, I will pull small groups for the students who do not understand

and grasp the concept. I will re-teach the parts that are confusing and allow for

    additional practice where needed.

    5. Which part of the lesson, if any, do you think might need to change?I dont think this lesson goes with the rest of the unit, but I didnt want to completely

leave it out since its part of the unit in the textbook. When actually teaching this

unit, I might put this lesson elsewhere and not part of a unit about the continents

    and where we live.

    6. When you were writing this lesson plan, what was the most difficult part? There wasnt a difficult part of writing this lesson. I feel that the lesson is

straightforward and going to be easy to teach.
