4. Open the discussion up to whole group and ask what each groups ideas were aboutgoods and services they use in Las Vegas.
5. CLOSURE: Ticket out the door. Have students write down two jobs people do in LasVegas to help other people.
F. Assessment: What will you use to measure student understanding?
Student assessment will be from discussion, worksheet and ticket out the door.
Explain how you will know students understand the concepts from the lesson.Students will show comprehension of Identifying producers in their neighborhood and
community through discussion and their answers on the worksheet and ticket out the
door.
G. Reflection:1. Which part of the lesson do you think will be the easiest for you to teach?
I think the review will be the easiest to teach because students should be familiar
with the difference between a producer and consumer from prior lessons.
2. Which part will be most challenging for you to teach? The most challenging part of this lesson might be when students discuss goods and
services within their groups. I will want to walk about the classroom and help those
that have more difficulty due to a lack of experience with purchasing goods.
3. How will you follow up or extend this lesson?I can extend the lesson by using the suggestions on pages 174177 of the
teachers edition. It is a lesson about how scientists discoveries and inventions
have helped other people. This lesson will help students see the value of producers.
4. What will you do for students who dont grasp the concepts?I could use the example of a mini lesson on page 173 of teacher edition, which
asked students to create a Venn diagram regarding goods and services.
5. Which part of the lesson, if any, do you think might need to change? The group discussion might need to be changed to a whole group discussion if
students are finding it difficult to come up with goods and services they use in Las
Vegas.
6. When you were writing this lesson plan, what was the most difficult part?

I think it was difficult trying to explain that everyone is a consumer and producer. I
will incorporate a continuation lesson to wrap up the ideas that the students have
learned the past three lessons on Economics to ensure that they completely
understand the roles of each and that they can also be both a consumer and aproducer.
