London Song Circles is the name we have given to our songwriting community at Tech Music School London. We blog and engage with the outside world online, sharing our own work, the work of songwriters we admire and discussing relevant industry developments/news. We will eventually use our blog to host videos and audio of our own masterclasses, interviews and other activities, as well as using it to showcase your work to music publishers, record labels and other relevant organisations. Song Circles will also host its own high quality song-writing circle in a local venue, offering the chance for budding

singer-songwriters to show their work in a sensitive and intimate setting, to a respectful audience of fellow students, song lovers and special industry guests.

Regardless of what course you’re on, if you write your own songs, in any genre, make sure you keep up to date with our activities and please keep us up to date with yours!

Happy New Year to all students of Tech Music School London!

During my first term at TMS London I had the chance to settle in and get to know many of you. This term I’m ready to begin launching some new initiatives to support all things ‘Songwriting’ at the school.

We’ve set up an official website/blog to promote the work of writers at TMS London, organised a new and exclusive original songwriters night in Fulham and have begun inviting visitors whom I think will be of interest to anyone who writes music.

Within this term I’m very proud to invite my friend and musical collaborator Bill Ryder Jones, twice Mercury nominated founder member of The Coral, who is currently making waves as a solo songwriter and orchestral arranger to come and host our

second Songwriter Seminar Day alongside myself. Also in the calendar is an old friend, Laura Bettinson, AKA ‘FEMME’, a talented producer and rising star in electro-pop who also writes and fronts Nigel Godrich’s new band ‘Ultraista’. There’s also Anna Russell of AR Management who is coming in to talk about her agency which represents talented top-line writers in the world of EDM.

Have a fantastic term and I look forward to meeting many of you over the coming weeks, regardless of which course you’re on. Please always feel free to drop me a line with anything songwriting related.
