We have been designing and manufacturing

furniture for half a century. At a time when too many

manufacturers value price over quality, 95% of our

Group's production was located in France at our

sites in the Vendée region, fitted with the most

technologically-advanced industrial tools.

For those additions (bedding, sofas, chairs, etc.) to

our different ranges which cannot be manufactured

on-site, we draw up designs and carefully select our

industrial partners according to our many criteria

for quality, safety and eco-friendliness.

This approach and the collegiat teamwork of our

enthusiastic employees allow our collections to

symbolise the values of French furniture: style,

character and quality.

Our respect for these values for over 50 years

50 countries on all continents. And it also means

A high-quality brandFor a long time we have built our reputation on the notion of quality. Here at Gautier, quality is a culture we inherited from our know-how in designing children’s furniture, an area inwhich there can be no compromise. Throughout the process of designing your furniture, we give priority to original and reliable solutions rather thanfocusing on profitability. And each member of the team is responsible for upholding our solidity and durabilityrequirements.This helps explain why a Gautier piece of furniture can be reassembled after being dismantled, allowing it tosurvive multiple moves.

In 1994, Gautier received ISO 9001 certification, allowing us to provide a 5-year warranty for all our furniture. Afterthis first step, our hard work paid off with an ISO 14001 certification in 2006 for our environmental commitmentand an OHSAS 18001 certification in 2007 for our safety management system implemented at all threemanufacturing sites.By doing so, Gautier becomes the first – and one of the only – French furniture companies to receivetriple certification: ISO 9001 for its quality approach, ISO 14001 for its commitment to the environment andOHSAS 18001 for respecting safety in the workplace.

Creating a product requires resources, which has an impacton nature.

We take our responsibilities and duties as citizens veryseriously. As such, we have been trying for several years toreduce this impact as much as possible via an ongoing eco-design approach.

Because creativity and quality mean more when combined withtrue civic commitment.

We have implemented sophisticated structures for maintainingthis environmental effort at each step of the production process.

Design� Starting with the design phase, our development teams factor in numerous criteria for limiting the impact of the futureproduct on the environment.

Raw materials� Our suppliers and materials are carefully chosen for minimal environmental impact. � Our particleboards are made of wood from sustainably managed forests or from recycled scrap wood. Our research and development pole is one of the first in Europe to produce ultra-low emission boards. These boards limitformaldehyde emissions by 40 or 50%, which is two times less than the best rate indicated by the EN 13986 Europeanstandard. Our board manufacturing plant recently received the CARB2 American certification, which is one of the strictest inthe world. � Since 2006, we use a solvent-free hydro-UV lacquer.

Manufacturing� 97% of manufacturing waste is re-used or recycled. Sawdust from the manufacturing process provides electricity forheating, thus reducing our consumption of non-renewable resources.� Some of these scraps are also recycled for use in new particleboards.

Packaging� Our boxes contain at least 50% recycled cardboard.� All of our packaging meets European standards.In addition, this selection of packaging is systematically linked to a quality indicator to avoid damaging the furniture…which wouldlead to a useless waste of materials and energy.

Transportation� We manufacture our own boards at our manufacturing site from locally sourced wood, which greatly limits the use oftransportation.� We make the most of each delivery round and load our trucks without pallets to limit trips as much as possible.� Contracts have been signed with our main hauliers to avoid empty return trips and encourage eco-friendly driving practices.

Furniture recycling� The different materials which make up our furniture can be separated easily to make it easier to recycle them once thefurniture is no longer used.� Whenever technically possible, all plastic components are marked for recycling.

� Montana leatherThe leathers for our sofas are calfskin, pigmented corrected-grain and chrome-tanned, with semi-aniline treatment,1.2-1.4 mm thickness, soft and smooth to the touch. Natural markings - veins and scars, differences in theappearance of the leather structure, colour nuances - are inherent to the authenticity of the product, and the leatherowes its soft, natural character to these differences. Far from being defects, these markings are a symbol of eachleather's individual history.

� Ultra Microfibre: Tiffany 100% polyester. Fabric which breathes and is extremely pleasant to the touch, remarkably sturdy. Tiffany is set on thick cloth formaximum seating comfort.

� Chenille fabrics: Vesco 33% polyester, 42% polyacryl, 25% cotton.Flat fabric used with a thick thread, providing a soft and pleasant surface.

� Flat fabrics: Arco 54% polyester, 46% polyacryl, Bodega 73% polyester, 27% viscose, Léno 79% polyester,21% acrylic. A weaving technique which allows us to obtain the best patterns and colours for a voluptuous andluxurious effect.

� Chenille fabrics: Loop 33% polyester, 42% polyacryl, 25% cotton, Bela 65% polyester, 30% polyacryl, 5%viscose. Flat fabric used with a thick thread, providing a soft and pleasant surface.

� Savane leather: Pigmented corrected-grain calfskin, 1,2/1,4 mm thick, chrome-tanned. Very classic, timeless leather with regular grain, soft, high quality resistance. Colours: white, ghiaccio, chocolate, red,anthracite, black, taupe, mouse, poppy.

� Mikado 75% cotton, 28% linen, emery-coated fabric, sanded, peach skin, shifts tones in the light, soft appearance,solid and comfortable. Colours: linen, Havana, charcoal, ebony, cherry.

� Softline 90% polyester, 10% cotton, microfiber fabric with a soft feel. Colours: coffee, chocolate, oatmeal, grey,ebony, Hermes.

� Stone 100% cotton, natural fibre, hypoallergenic and easy to clean. Colours: camel, grey, natural, taupe,chocolate.

� Casual 70% viscose, 30% linen, chiné fabric, nuanced, hard to soil, very sturdy. Colours: beige, taupe, brown,chiné grey, charcoal.

Firmness: The mattress' degree of firmness provides in-depth comfort. It supports yourspinal cord. Our mattresses range from balanced to firm to very firm,depending on your body type and weight.� If the weight load is heavier and your back needs more support,choose a mattress with very firm support.

Materials: There are three main technologies for mattress materials: latex, springs andfoam. None of them is better than the others. They are designed for differenthabits, needs and specific body types. Gautier mattresses are available in all3 materials.� Don't hesitate to test any Gautier mattresses at the shop or ask foradvice from one of our sales staff.

Dimensions: The length and width of your bedding are essential criteria for a good night'ssleep. � Fast delivery times� At Gautier, in order to ensure delivery within the normal time offour weeks, we have 45,000 m2 of storage area for the differentcomponents of all our collections. Recommendations and technical information

All of our products are in strict compliance with Europeanstandards in effect. High beds for children are equipped with

security guardrails and anti-slip steps. A logoindicates our compliance with these standards andstates that these beds are not made for childrenunder age 6.

To make them easy to use, the drawers for all our "junior"furniture are mounted on sliding rollers.

Those for “adult” furniture are mounted on invisible rollers withshock absorbers. For more security, all our lamps are made oftempered glass.

But Gautier goes even farther than that: Since June 2009, all new collections from our factories aremanufactured with ultra-low emission boards. Theirformaldehyde level is twice as low as even the best EuropeanEN13986 standard (measured with the EN120 method). Withless than 4 mg/100 g, this level of emissions is close to that ofnatural plants.

Our furniture is easy to clean: simply wipe the furniture with acloth and clean water. Do not use any detergents.

The leather on our sofas is pigmented corrected-grain calfskin.This kind of leather is very stable and is smoothed then passedthrough a graining press. Leather is a natural material whichmay contain irregularities or slight colour variations. It softensover time and creases may appear with use: this is a normaloccurrence which is related to the very nature of the material.
