Pleasure - I hope it is right!

    Hey Quentin, nice CP!!

Just wondering, did you use the 1:1+√2 reference directly or is thatust coincidence?

I thought that it had similar structure to the horse/my cougar!

Amazing how all those inserts obscure that. : )

Excellent arrangement. I'll be trying it soon...

    Oriholic Jared

    Jared, very good.

Yes, it is similar to the horse structure, but I didn't use the

reference you are talking about - I'm not that mathematical. I just

started with a basic base and then added grafts etc to spice it up.

Let's say I use construction principles to design, not so much

mathemetical - although they are the same - I just think more

    practical/structural than mathematical.

    If that makes any sence!

      7a

Oh, for sure. It's just a very common, useful reference point, that I

swear always makes flap arrangements line up how you want

them. More than any other I've seen anyhow. Satoshi, Jason, and I

use it a ton. Even Montroll used it, I believe, though he could

never figure it out--he just guessed at it.

Looking at this CP actually helps me tremendously, in graft-

adding, which I tend to avoid. You, however, have done it in a

proper way, much more elegant than the majority I've seen....Now

to design some stuff where I can utilize these things...

    Oriholic Jared

      7a

    Thanx.

Yes, I use basic geometry to add my grafts, so that the flap

arrangements line up and the goemetry is just more "nice". So I'll

draw using alot of circle radii (not circle packing) and so on, until I

have my major lines, and then find a way very similar to figure out

how to get the reference points. No maths at all, maths gives me a

    huge headache!!

    Quentin Origami

      7a

And that's why I like your work. Of course maths gives you a

headache--that's 'cause there is no s in math! :)

Also this might interest you :)

    Oriholic Jared

      7aJa, but that's not 100% correct.

    Check your email.

    Quentin Origami

      7a

Wow, if so that's not even a crease width away, but yeah maybe it

isn't 100%. Sure seems like it though.

    Oriholic Jared

      6a

I've been looking at this base recently and I think you've done

those grafts beautifully. Today I tried the cp but am stuck on the

crimp? to arrange the front legs...

    Matt Wisby

      6a

    Hi Wizmatt.

There may be creases missing, I don't know really. I never folded

this from cp. There is a very specific way to find the reference

point, otherwise the geometry doesn't work. You can send me a

    pm if you want...

    Quentin Origami

      6a

Start by thinking of it like his horse, but with a ton of grafts. And

yeah, the creasing in that section isn't perfect, but it's enough that

you should be able to get it.

    Oriholic Jared

      5a

that's amazing Quentin. So we know how you design xD! I'll try

this method of construction for my next planned 22.5 design -

    pteranodon xD!

the grafts line up with the neck details perfectly. great idea for the

tail. I also like your idea - "can be used to make a "male" wolf". So,

it seems to be similar to your horse xD!
