Image: Ann Harris. 2 6 PM | #instaballet at Capitello Wines (540 Charnelton St) Help dancers from Eugene Ballet Company create a new ballet! No dance experience is required and all ages are welcome. Stop by anytime between 5:30-8pm to be part of the creative process, or sit back and watch the ballet unfold. The final audience- choreographed ballet is presented at 8pm. 3 6:30 PM | Karin Clarke Gallery (760 Willamette St) Karin Clarke Gallery displays a collection of 20 new paintings and drawings created throughout Oregon and the Eastern seaboard by long-time Eugene painter Bets Cole. Viewers will enjoy the combination of Cole’s dramatic large-scale, charcoal drawings paired with her smaller-scale, colorful acrylic and gouache paintings. Working in the plein-air tradition, Cole paints with an immediacy and openness that draws the viewer into her experience. 4 7 PM | InEugene Real Estate (100 E Broadway) Master craftsman Thom Whipp debuts his first exhibition of mosaic wood art compositions, hand made with woodworking tools. Thom attended the Northwest College of Art in Portland and, in his mid-twenties, found carpentry and woodworking as a way to be creative and to make a living. His work incorporates “The Golden Ratio,” a mathematical layout of the design of art and architecture. 5 7:30 PM | Pacific Rim Art Guild (160 E Broadway, basement) In honor of the 4th of July, Pacific Rim Art Guild presents “America the Beautiful,” an all member show in which each artist illustrates a line from the song. The Human Library™ encourages conversations that can challenge stereotypes and prejudices through dialogue. “Check out” a European student for 15 minutes of quality conversation. These twenty-two youth, ages 19-25, were chosen by US Embassies because of their outstanding leadership in their home countries. They are in Eugene as part of a US Department of State program. 6-8pm. 30 No Shame Eugene (99 W 10th Ave) Doors open at 7:30pm with live music, and the show begins at 8pm with 15 original, 5-minute acts including monologues, sketch comedy, and the experimental. Each show is comprised of the first 15 acts to register with the host when doors open - come as a performer, or no shame in just watching! 28 Artist Alley (Kesey Square) Artists set up a table during the First Friday ArtWalk and sell original work of any medium. Stop by to see what they have to offer. 5:30-8pm. 29 The Human Library

(942 Olive St) The Human Library™ is a place where real people are on loan to readers: a place where difficult questions are expected, appreciated, and answered.
