WELCOME 2018 ROVERS CENTENARY YEAR (1918-2018)

Year 2018 marks 100 years of Rover Scouting. Rover activities / events through all over the world are being related to Centenary Celebrations of Rover Scouting. Rover Scouting started as a result of demand of older scouts leading to the formation of the Rover Scout Selection in 1918. Baden Powell wrote a book for the new section, “Rovering to success” in 1922. It contained the thoughts of Baden Powell for a happy

and successful adult life as well as the ways and methods to organize Rover activities. Baden Powell called Rovering a “Brotherhood of Open Air and Service”. World Scout Committee decided to celebrate the year 2018 as the centenary year of Rovering. Special activities and events are being organized in connection with this mile stone of scouting in all parts of the world. Pakistan Boy Scouts Association has also scheduled many activities in this regard. All the scout Groups / Rover Crews, Scout Districts and Provinces are invited to organize special ceremonies to celebrate the Rovers Centenary Year and send the reports to the National Headquarters, PBSA through proper channel.
