draw attention to ourselves, but to do God’s work of salvation.
God’s work of salvation is the Good News. We become Good News when we look for Jesus in the goodness of others, during prayer, in choosing good over evil. We become Good News when we speak words of comfort to those who suffer, encourage those in difficulties, take a stance for Gospel values.
When, like Jesus, we make preaching the Good News through words and actions the purpose and pattern of our lives, others will say, “Everyone is looking for you!”
Trinity Catholic High School Tuition Scholarship Deadline Any current 8th grade student —Catholic or Non-Catholic — who completes the application process for the 2015-2016 school year at Trinity Catholic High School will receive $8,000 in tuition assistance ($2,000 per year for all four years), if they register by the deadline each year.
This year’s deadline for completing the Application Process
and for receiving this tuition assistance benefit is
Thursday, February 19th.
This scholarship program represents a significant commitment by the St. Louis Archdiocese to the future of Trinity Catholic High School and to the future of Catholic education in North County.
If you know or even think any child in your neighborhood might benefit from this program, please take time to let them know about it and give them all the encouragement you can.
Meet Life Program Sponsored by the Knights of Columbus
This program—aka the Baby Bottle Program— is a statewide effort to help the Pro-Life goals. Our local Santa Cruz Council of the Knights of Columbus will be participating in this program over the coming weeks.
The objective is to help provide ultra-sound machines to birth centers to discourage abortions. We feel that once an expectant mother sees the images of the small human in the pictures from their womb, the details in the developed child, they will change their minds on terminating the life.
The way this program works is to pass out baby bottles to serve as the collection receptacles (for financial donations), thus the name the Baby Bottle Program.
We are hoping for one of two levels of participation. The easiest level is to bring your donation to church and put it in a bottle at church. The other level is to take a bottle home with you to collect donations over the next couple of weeks.
You could also solicit from your neighbors, friends and family. Keep the bottle on the table, so when people visit, it becomes a topic of conversation, suggesting that their donation would be appreciated.
Baby Bottles With Donations should be returned to church on
Saturday / Sunday February 21st / 22nd, 2015
I’m grateful to John Jordan for taking the initiative to organize this program to our parish. I encourage your generosity in whatever ways might be possible for you to participate.
Celebrating Our Commitment to God’s Work of Salvation Everyone is Looking for You Today’s Gospel invites us to imagine ourselves being the object of other people’s attention—even lots of other people! In one way or another we all want to be like someone else, to do what they do, have what they have. What is there about you, about your family or our parish, that other people can’t take their eyes off? Are hungering to be like or have for themselves? The challenge of honestly exploring these question is not because we want to

Health Advisory
Your commitment to Mass is a sign of the vitality of our parish. However, for the health of our whole community, if you are not feeling well, be attentive to these recommendations:
Don’t Come To Church …
• With a fever—be fever free for 24 hrs. • When you’re not feeling well— achy, tired, sore throat, no energy • When you’re coughing and sneezing a
lot with a runny nose or headache
When You Do Come To Church …
• Use hand sanitizer at church entrances • With slight symptoms of cold or flu —
• Don’t take communion from the cup • Offer the sign of peace with a friendly
wave or simple bow
Thank you for your cooperation in taking responsibility for the health of our community. Remember , it’s sad to miss Mass when you’re sick or taking care of someone who’s sick, but not sinful.

DRIVING….WHEN TO “HANG UP THE KEYS” As we age, many issues may affect our ability to drive. Loss of hearing and visual acuity, changes in physical strength, and a slower reaction time all play a part in this issue. Here is a checklist to help us de-termine when it is the right time to stop driving. DRIVER ERRORS
• Trouble merging into traffic
• Difficulty seeing sides of the road
• Driving too fast or too slow
• Exercising poor judgment when making left turns.
• Trouble staying in the proper lane
• Failure to stop at signs or lights PROBLEM BEHAVIOR
• Riding the brake
• Hitting curbs
• Stopping in traffic for no reason
• Difficulty turning corner
• Frequent close calls
• Confusing the gas pedal and brake pedal
• Getting lost in familiar places. • UNDERLYING PROBLEMS
• Easily distracted
• Delayed response to the unexpected.
• Medical condition that may affect ability
• Difficulty judging distance
• Difficulty adjusting vision between dark and light
• Medications that may cause drowsiness
If you, are a loved one, are experiencing many of these issues, please consider it a time to stop driving. Your safety, the safety of those riding with you and the safety of all on the road are at risk. Thanks for taking care of yourself. Peace and Hope, S. Rose, SSND ********************************* GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP...Due to an un-expected MANDATORY meeting that I must attend on Feb. 13th, there will be no gathering of our Grief Support Group in February. The next scheduled meeting will be March 13th at 11:00 in the Parish Office. Know I am available anytime before then If a need arises.
