Celebrating Our Journey of Faith—Here and Now

Be Not Afraid — I Am With You I AM MOST GRATEFUL to our parish members who have responded thus far to our Stewardship Appeal. The life and welfare of our parish continues to benefit from the active participation of our members in our parish ministries, organizations, and activities. In addition, your increased financial support—to the extent that each person or household is able to do so— is also a sign of your commitment to presence and work of the Church in our community.

To date 119 individuals / households have responded representing a combined weekly increase of $934.25. The average increase in weekly offerings is $7.85. If you have not yet renewed your commitment of financial support for our parish, please use the special envelope you received by mail or can find in the front of church or back vestibule. Use this envelop to indicate your new level of giving. You can include your Sunday offering and then in following week return to our regular weekly envelope. Again, on behalf of our entire community I thank our parish members for their continuing participation and investment in the vitality and stability of our parish.

IN MARCH 2015 ARCHBISHOP CARLSON asked each parish of the Archdiocese to carefully and critically think about different ways they might be organized. With fewer priest and older priests he needs to know what Catholics think about their parishes and their future. Parish leaders were provided with training, materials, and a timeline for completing an assessment of the viability of their parish.

Beginning in June 2016 —

• The Archbishop will begin using the information he receives from parishes as a part of his process for assigning priests to parishes throughout the Archdiocese.

• Our parish will use the report we make to the Archbishop to plan for the future organization and work of our parish.

The Archbishop wants the people of a parish to determine its future. They are in the best position to know what is needed and to decide what is possible. I encourage you to join our parish leaders to review and discuss the work they have done since June. I think everyone who comes will learn a lot and can contribute to our final report to Archbishop Carlson.

PARISH GENERAL ASS E MBLY M EETING S

The members of our—

Pastoral Leadership Team Parish Pastoral Council

Parish Finance Committee

invite our parish members to attend ONE of these two

upcoming meetings:

Monday, November 16th 7:00 9:00 pm

Tuesday December 1st 2:00—4:00 pm

in the Parish Community Center

At these meetings parish leaders will—

• Present the most important sections of our report to parish members

• Facilitate parish members talking with each other about the vitality, stability, assets, and deficits of our parish, and

• Incorporate your ideas and feedback into our report to Archbishop Carlson which everyone will have the opportunity to review and discuss at a final General Assembly on Sunday, January 3rd.

Highlights of the final report will be published in our Sunday bulletin in December.

Health Advisory

Your commitment to Mass is a sign of the vitality of our parish. However, for the health of our whole community, if you are not feeling well, be attentive to these recommendations:

Don’t Come To Church …

• With a fever—be fever free for 24 hrs. • When you’re not feeling well— achy, tired, sore throat, no energy • When you’re coughing and sneezing a

lot with a runny nose or headache

When You Do Come To Church …

• Use hand sanitizer at church entrances • With slight symptoms of cold or flu —

• Don’t take communion from the cup • Offer the sign of peace with a friendly

wave or simple bow

Thank you for your cooperation in taking responsibility for the health of our community. Remember , it’s sad to miss Mass when you’re sick or taking care of someone who’s sick, but not sinful.

Evening Prayer for those who have died, Thursday, November 12th. 6:45 Gathering and Fellowship 7:30 Evening Prayer

SHARE Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support This week, Nov. 11-13th, we will be partnering with the National SHARE Program. They will be conducting a seminar which will provide the necessary information and skills for caregivers and hospitals to create the needed resources to provide Perinatal Bereavement Care in their own communities. The goal is to have access to compassionate, supportive Perinatal Bereavement Care in every community so that no family goes through this tragic experience alone. The seminar will take place in our Community Center. The hope is that in the future, groups and/or individuals will be able to continue to use our facilities in order to provide these services to individuals and families. We ask that you keep this seminar and its success in your prayers. If you have any questions about the program, please do not hesitate to call me. Peace and Hope, S.Rose, SSND, RN

SAVE THE DATE, Saturday, DEC. 6

It’s just about that time again! We are having a Breakfast with Santa at Holy Name of Jesus for the chil-dren of our parishes and school. It’s a wonderful community event that is fun for all ages! We will have a wonderful breakfast, a Santa store where you can buy gifts, games, face painting, raffles, crafts for the kids, Christmas songs, pictures…we have it all! Proceeds go to help send our youth group to Washington DC to MARCH FOR PROLIFE!!

Are you tired of clutter in your house? We all have it…things we thought we wanted but we don’t, or things someone gave us but we don’t really need. Some of these things are still in the box or have been used just once and are in great condition so we don’t want to throw them out! Well, here is a way to put those things to use...guilt free! Our youth group will be collecting usable, new or nearly new items like mugs, decorations, jewelry, puzzles, Christmas stuff, etc. to sell in our Santa store so we can send our youth to the ProLife trip. Please bring your items and place them in the box marked BWS. Thanks so much! Questions? Call Judy Krenn 314-761-6570

If anyone out there has a bass guitar and/or an amp gathering dust in their basement

that they would be willing to part with our music department would love to take it off your hands and you would be supporting a student who may someday "rock our world!" Thanks! Judy Krenn 314-761-6570

Singers and instrumentalists (Strings (especially violins), Woodwinds, Brass (low brass) call Fr. Bruce Forman (314-231-7464) or Mrs. Mary Smith (314-962-9260) for additional information and to schedule an audition.
