We are here today to recognise the achievements of students, staff and professionals from our IMI network. The Outstanding Achievers Awards celebrate the high calibre of talent that is training and working within the UK retail motor industry. They showcase the centres and individuals who illustrate passion, dedication and how high quality training has helped them achieve the very best.

Those who have been invited here today should be incredibly proud of their accomplishments. You are a testament to the motor industry and we, at IMI, wish you every success for the future.

The need for trained and competent individuals has never been more important for the future success of the motor industry. Being here today means that you are forming an integral part of that future. I would like to offer my personal congratulations to all of you who have worked so hard to earn this recognition.

GUEST SPEAKERMark’s rowing career started at the age of 14 at the Poplar Blackwall & District Rowing Club where, having been introduced to the sport by his father, his dream of representing his country was born and his desire to achieve Olympic glory stirred. He harnessed that passion and went on to win an Olympic gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Great Britain’s first ever lightweight rowing medal, along with his partner Zac Purchase. On home soil in 2012, Mark and Zac took home the silver.

Knowing the difference that sport and the skills it teaches can make in a person’s life, Mark started working for London Youth Rowing in 2014. LYR uses sport, rowing specifically, as a vehicle to develop young people and give them the life skills they need to build their own futures.
