The Content Tab

» Displays the IBM Cognos content that can be added to a workspace and workspaces that can be opened

» You can view the content in one of three views:

• Tree (Default)

• Thumbnail

• List

Content Widgets

» Report: When a report or report part is added to a workspace it is displayed in a report widget. Report objects include reports or report parts created in Report Studio, Query Studio, Analysis Studio and Metric Studio.

» Navigator: When a folder is dragged from the Content tab to the Workspace it is displayed in a Navigator widget.

» PowerPlay: When an IBM Cognos PowerPlay report is added to a workspace it is displayed in HTML in a PowerPlay widget.

» TM1: When an IBM Cognos TM1 Websheet or TM1 Cube view is added to a workspace it is displayed in HTML in a TM1 widget.

» Action Button: Create buttons that are used to navigate tabs

» My Inbox: Displays notifications from the My Inbox in IBM Cognos Connection

» RSS Feed: Displays Really Simple Syndication news feeds

» Slider Filter: Used to filter the data in other widgets

» Text: Used to enter, format and display text

Annotating a Widget

» You can collaborate on the content of a widget in a shared workspace by adding simple comments

» Others viewing the same workspace will see the comment, and they can share their insights in additional comments

» You can annotate the entire widget or (in lists and crosstabs) an individual data cell

Printing a Workspace

» Use your browser Print capability to print your workspace

• Use the Print Preview option to adjust settings including scaling and orientation to make your workspace fit on a printed page.

• The browser print will print the current tab and the global area

– You need to print each tab separately

Collaborate using IBM Connections

» IBM Connections is a web-based collaboration service for collecting, organizing, sharing and reusing work related to a goal.

» IBM Connections Activities are integrated with IBM Cognos Workspace

• You can create a new Activity from a Workspace

• You can access existing Activities associated with the workspace

» An Activity is a way for you to organize your work and collaborate with others
