“The Revolution Issue" - How often do we see two worlds emerging into one? Two opposites working together for the better? We live in a time where the system/society/system of society is built into categories, labels and fixed groups with definitions that are rarely blurred. In past times this system has in large, glorified the logic, linear and regulatory way of thinking. The counterpart of this rational concept that has and is an ever existing entity has in many ways been left to the side. Often it is this side where innovative new ideas happen but after the engine has started running that is forgotten in favour of the structure. We can see this division even in ourselves. The human brain is divided into two hemispheres, the left one and the right one. The left side takes care of the logical and analytical aspects of our thinking, where the right brain is behind creativity, senses and imaginations.

“The Revolution Issue" -
How often do we see two worlds emerging into one? We see the left side being favoured for example in educational institutions where exams do not measure an all around talent, but focus on training and felicitating the analytical intaking of information and how accurately it is reproduced. How often are individuals that do not act in a linear way are considered to be failing in life? In this second issue of Osmosis we want to hand limelight to the right hemisphere. The side of our brain responsible for pas-sion, roaring laughter, taste and movement. We have filled the pages of this issue with individuals who cross boundaries, and innovations that approach familiar things with a new lens or different avenues. We feature makeup and hairdressing as art rather than beauty, portraying traditional religious iconography on a commercial scale, photography of familiar objects seen in a new detailed light. We hope as always we can leave you in-spired to create your own ideas, perspectives and innovations. To embrace the disorder and shake-up the familiar rising to a balance of the two sides into a symbiosis where both are needed for victory/advancement.

1. Fou D’Absinthe: Warm and cold at the same time, this softly spicy craziness about the authentic scent of absinthe celebrates a perfect combo between classicism and avant-gardism in the aroma world. High quality formula of unusual woods and tuberose that keeps the minds free and donates desire of dreaming. 2. CTHULHU by hp lovecraft: This alchemic scent is inspired by a deity from a '20s tale which anatomy was as part man, part dragon, and part octopus. I't's definitely a creepy wet fragrance with a reminiscent background of oceanic plants from dark waters. Ingredi-ents: esoteric bloodroots and black algae. 3. Burning Leaves by I Hate Perfume: The entire series, including water perfume, ab-solute perfume and home spray, is based on the passion for autumn and on all the per-
fumed tracks the season leaves in mind: especially, the smoke of burning maple

4. Paint by Boudicca: A new collaboration between British fashion label BOUDICCA, and anti-fragrance rebels, Eccentric Molecules. The perfume WODE represents the ex-pressionist character, with warm and cool multilayers, wild notes and abstract elements, rich notes of oils such as black hemlock and raw opium, musk, amber, jasmine and cumin. Provocatively different. 5. Cannabis Santal by Fresh: A great masculine scent full of fruits mingled with patchouli, chocolate, vetiver and vanilla musk that captures the energy of ancient beauty rituals but with a modern technology. 6. Magnifiques Secretions: Created only for free-thinking minds, the spirit of this per-fume is sensually unexpected. A saline bloody milk tuned with some tropical coconuts and sensual iris.

Cannabis Santal € 78.00

When did you start DJing - and what or who were your early passions and influences? I started djing in 2000. My early influences were Carl Cox, Jeff Mills, Dj Irene, Felix The House Cat, Arman Ven helden.
What is it about DJing, compared to, say, producing your own music, that makes it interesting for you?
What i loved about DJing from day one was having the power to touch people in ways only mu-sic can. It gives me goosebumps just thinking about it. Just having the opportunity to make someone smile and have a good time by just spinning some records is amazing.
What do you usually start with when preparing for a set?
It depends. I look for my material based on the type of gig i have. Depends if I'm opening or headlining.
How important is building a real relationship with the music you're playing for your own
approach?
Its very important to build a relationship with the music your playing. That’s what makes you comfortable when spinning. When your comfortable with what you play, Djing becomes some-thing more than an action; The music becomes part of you, your identity.
There's so much music out there, is it even possible to build meaningful long-term relationships with a particular track or album?
The more you play you'll build relationship with the music regardless. Theres some records that never leave my bag. Some records become your signature. You never know when it'll be that right moment to drop that record.
What makes you decide to play a particular record during one of your sets?Is there a criteria other than pure subjectivity, for selecting what to play at a gig?
I play records based on the crowd. You have to balance between what you like and what can make the crowd move. At the same time you want to play that record that will play a part in the journey you’re creating for the party people.
When there's more music than one can possibly take in, it is becoming increasingly hard to know what constitutes an original and a remake anymore. What's your opinion on the importance of roots, traditions, respecting originals and sources?
I've been Djing for so many years I've gained lots of knowledge about music. Whats good whats not. You start to stick to producers you've been following for years. There will be some new upcoming talent that'll catch your ear but for the most part you'll train your ear for the garbage.
SIMON HEYLIGER
NYC UNDERGROUND interview by Aniv borche
Electronic music is becoming more “mainstream” how do you see this effecting the underground scene ? do you feel a resurgence of more experimental music being produced?
The only problem I have with our music becoming more mainstream is the prices of parties, Djs and music going up. In these tough times party people can not afford to go out anymore. Admission prices are going up as are the cost for these DJs. I think it is amazing that our music is pumped to all types of people. It’s music and it should be spread all over the world. Thats our duty as Djs, to spread the knowledge of all types of music.
Brooklyn has changed drastically over a short period of time, How has this affected the subculture? Where do you see it moving?
Everything goes in cycle to me. One minute something is hot and the next its not. You just never know what will happen next with the music scene in New York, thats what keeps it interesting. Did anyone see Brooklyn becoming such a hot spot few years back? Don't think so. I know i didn’t, I do know nothing last forever. Someone will start a new trend and Brooklyn would be something of the past.
Where would you say your dream Location/Venue is?
My dream venues are Robert Johnson, Womb , Panorama Bar and Rex club.
Who are some of your favourite producers?
Argy, S.A.M, Mike Dehnert, STL, ROD, Dj Qu, Fred P and Mr.G
Do you think Dj’s like Anthony Parasole and Dj Spider have brought New York Dj’s out of the warehouses and into the international market?
Anthony is a very good friend of mine and i’d say his work has definitely brought more attention to New York internationally.
Do you have any upcoming projects or productions that you are particularly excited about?
Im currently working on an EP to hopefully be released later this year. I’m definitely excited for it be-cause it'll be my first.
Would you say that nightlife in New York is still as secretive as it has been in the past?
I don't think so. Now that we have Facebook, Resident Advisor and all types of social media. Its easy to find out where a party is happening.
What are your plans for the future?
Producing more music and hopefully playing all over the world.
What would you consider a revolutionary moment for the Techno scene in New York?
I’d say when Output opened in Brooklyn 2 years ago. The night club has made a huge state-ment in the techno scene in New York. Bringing in talent that has never played here in the states. 130

NEO AVANTGARDE / NEO FEMINIST / NEO ANARCHIST ART
Experimental and unconventional, visual imagery of thought. Breaking traditional structures of a painting, graphics and illustration. The belief that artists have the power to create social and political reform. The artist as a philosopher, who envisions changes and creates new |hi| story. Images that disturb and challenge the viewer. Images that force them to peel away the surfaces of their own reali-ties and fantasies.
It is inevitable to encounter the obstacle of gender. Can the artist be a philoso-pher, reformer, and a woman at the same time?
They say a female artist has to be a feminist to be taken seriously. Identifying as a feminist or queer separates one from being “just a woman.” What defines a feminist today? What if I don't want to be that, or queer?
The NEO Feminist, as I see it, is a human being with an awoken consciousness. One who possesses the ability to reflect on the processes above neurotic experi-ences and perceptions that lie above the historical narratives and “norms” of the society, as well as the “norms” of gender. Neo Feminist art explores intellect and spirituality as well as sexuality. It breaks through the primary archetypal images of unconsciousness. Its aim is to create new archetypes, to shape a new image of the human being after sapience. An image that lies beyond the current gender roles, and defies convention as we know it. To create a new reality and new point of view. To do so, the old laws and structures must be broken.

NANOFLOWCELL In development for 14 years, the four-seated car measures roughly 5.25 me-tres in length and runs on the compa-nies proprietary petrol made from a salt water solution.Compared to conven-tional technologies, one litre of the salty liquid contains 400 times more energy than a typical lead-acid battery. This could be the beginning of a direct re-placement for petrol based fuels.
