Fifth Sunday of Easter

Joining In Our Year Of Mercy! The sun is shining, the buds are blossoming, and along with the bees, the Youth Ministry program at OLOS is buzzing. In the past few weeks, middle school and high school students have donated, cleaned and sorted toys, books and clothes for children in need at Cradles to Crayons, prepared and served a meal at The Table, a community lunch program in Brockton, gone on retreat at Miramar Retreat Center and celebrated April Fool’s Day at an OLOS Middle School Youth Night. A big thank you to all the students for their service, energy, thoughtfulness and enthusiasm, and to all parents and adults who made these opportunities possible through chaperoning, Pete Morrison, John Glancy, Kathy Petze, Elizabeth Veiera, Judy Baum, Julie Morrison, Sean O’Driscoll, Tanya Bollenbach, Pam Carr, Deb Spencer and Lisa Mahoney.

Food Pantry Spring Clean-up Collection Now that Spring has finally arrived--maybe!-- it's time to begin collecting cleaning products for the Food Pantry, as these are items that are not available to the clients with their EBT cards. Items such as paper products, soaps (both hand dishwashing and laundry soaps), any cleaning materials, sprays, mops. brooms, etc. would be greatly appreciated. Protecting God’s Children Training OLOS will be offering a Protecting God’s Children training on Tuesday, May 3rd from 7:30-9:30 PM in the Bullock Center. All parents and other adults in the parish who are interested in chaperoning youth ministry events, teaching or volunteering with or alongside children and youth in the parish are required to have this special training. Please attend if you have not attended one of these sessions in the past.

Sacraments of Initiation During this joyous season, we will celebrate the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation). Children will be welcomed into the OLOS family at baptisms throughout the season. First Eucharist will be celebrated on May 7, 8, 14 and 15, with Confirmation occurring on May 13. All year long our second graders, tenth graders, their teachers and families, along with parishioners, have been preparing for these important more intense moments of grace. Our second and tenth graders have participated in many classes and a Retreat each. Confirmation students have also embarked on Service Trips throughout the year, as well as embraced reflection upon their experiences. May the community's active presence and participation at these celebrations cause all of us to reflect on the gifts of the Spirit and grace in our own lives and in the life of our parish community.

Please join us in praying for our youth, from the tiniest to those on the verge of adulthood.

Those to be baptized Sunday April 24th: Conrad & Cyrus Georgian, Tomas Giguere, Kai Arguimbau and Lyla Ann Rodio
