Dear friends,
We’re half-way through our marathon month of outside bap sms, first communions and confirma-ons --- playing catch-up for all the ceremonies delayed over the past 4 months. To be honest, I
absolutely dreaded doing all those things outside … but my fears were unfounded. Ceremonies out-side have been joyful, reverent and respec ul. Thanks to the small army of volunteers doing all the extra footwork!
This Monday I a end a lengthy zoom training so the parish and I can do a good job supervising semi-narian Jorge Tellez. He will be here 10 months for pastoral experience and to “learn the ropes.” Seminarians are not that numerous these days. If Bishop Barnes has chosen to send Jorge here, it’s a sign he considers our parish posi ve, Christ-like, and a good example for a young man considering priesthood --- that’s quite a compliment to you!
Next week’s bulle n will have Jorge’s picture and introduc on note.

Help me to rise above the negativity, harshness and division that seems to be taking over our world. Help me to focus my thoughts on things that right, pure, and true. Help me to be slow to anger. Please give me your wisdom and fill me with peace. May I show the same grace to others that you show to me. In Jesus’ name I pray.

REBUILD, REFRESH, RENEW UDATES: ALREADY DONE: Statue of Our Lady of Fatima has been removed and a new one has been ordered. IN PROCESS RIGHT NOW : Architect is working on detailed drawings for Our Lady of Fatima's new place and prayer areas inside the church. NEXT ON THE LIST: The restrooms in front of the school and new school office. Projects of this size feel like they take forever, and are sooo expensive… but worth it, since we aim to ensure a vibrant Catholic presence here for decades to come.
Es mados amigos,
Estamos a la mitad de nuestro mes maratónico de bau smos, primeras comuniones y confir-maciones, al aire libre, tratando de ponernos al día con todas las ceremonias retrasadas durante los úl mos 4 meses. Para ser honesto, temía absolutamente hacer todas estas ceremonias afuera… pero mis temores eran infundados. Las ceremonias al aire libre han sido alegres, reverentes y respetuosas. ¡Gracias al pequeño ejército de voluntarios que hacen todo el trabajo, moviendo los pies en varias ac vidades!
Este Lunes asis ré a un entrenamiento extenso por zoom para que podamos hacer, tanto la Par-roquia como yo, un buen trabajo, en la supervisión del Seminarista Jorge Tellez. Estará aquí 10 meses para su experiencia pastoral y "aprendizaje del manejo parroquial". Los Seminaristas no son muy nu-merosos en estos días. Si el Obispo Barnes ha decidido enviar a Jorge aquí, es una señal de que él considera que nuestra Parroquia es posi va, cris ana y un buen ejemplo para un joven que está con-siderando el Sacerdocio --- ¡Eso es un gran cumplido para todos!
En el bole n de la próxima semana, tendremos la foto y una nota de presentación de Jorge.

Registration
The Faith Formation office has limited office hours due to the Corona Virus. It is our goal to offer you the best service, but for the safety of our employees we have designed an online regis-tration form we would prefer you to fill out. Online Registration Instructions: Go to our website www.smmchino.org then go to the heading “Faith Formation” and below that link click online registration. Clink the big pink button that states “Registration Form”. This form will walk you through the online registration process. Once you submit your appli-cation and send in payment we will send you the details of your student’s class by phone or email in mid August. You can also print the registration form and send it in with payment and paperwork to the faith formation office. If the online registration process is too difficult, then please schedule an appointment with the faith formation office to fill out the registration paperwork in person. Please call the office to schedule your appointment.
Retreats and Extra Materials (Due to possible changes, money will be collected at a later date) For families making 1st communion: $25 workshop fee Confirmation year 1 retreat: $15 per student Confirmation year 2 & 3 retreat: $160 per student / per year
