1 1 PANTHER NEWS With some feedback from the PBIS team, I decided to change up our first honor roll ceremony this year. Instead of inviting students to the auditorium for a formal ceremony, the team suggested we have an ice cream social the last 10 minutes of a class period in the court yard. We bought over 500 ice cream sandwiches for all our honor roll students and invited them into the courtyard for a few minutes to spend with their friends enjoying ice cream. I think the students enjoyed themselves by all the smiles we saw. Next time we may be back in the auditorium in January. In sports competitions, our Panther Football team is completing the season with much to celebrate. The team has certainly made big improvements this year as it looks like we are playoff bound. Our swim teams advanced to regionals. Not to be overshadowed, the girlsbowling team qualified for the state bowling tournament along with one male bowler. Cross Country teams qualified for regionals, too. I appreciate our many fans for supporting our student athletes in all our athletic programs. In the performing arts arena, the marching band competed at marching MPAs last weekend and received the second highest mark, earning an Excellentrating. Both our chorus and orchestra programs held their Fall concerts, and both sounded very strong. I have always embraced the arts because music is an art that can be perform at home for a lifetime. I would like to take an opportunity to celebrate our two employees of the year. Ms. Castaneda has been recognized by our staff for her outstanding customer service at school in the guidance office. Mr. Kinsel has been recognized for service to the school community in the classroom as a Social Studies teacher. My deep support goes out to both these tremendous Panthers. With some feedback from the PBIS team, I decided to change up our first honor roll ceremony this year.

Not to be overshadowed, the girls’ bowling team qualified for the state bowling tournament along with one male bowler. Cross Country teams qualified for regionals, too. I appreciate our many fans for supporting our student athletes in all our athletic programs.

In the performing arts arena, the marching band competed at marching MPA’s last weekend and received the second highest mark, earning an “Excellent” rating. Both our chorus and orchestra programs held their Fall concerts, and both sounded very strong. I have always embraced the arts because music is an art that can be perform at home for a lifetime.
