My husband and I took our boys to the American History Museum where the Batmobile was a big attraction. We are also cheering on the Nats as they make their drive to the World Series! I hope to see you at our Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration Assemblies this Friday!! Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration is Coming this Friday, 10/18! Families are welcome to join us for our culminating celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month this Friday, 10/18. ECE through 1st grade students will present at 9:30am; 2nd through 5th grade students will present at 1:45pm. Both assemblies will take place in the gymnasium. MPD Third District Family-Friendly Halloween Party: If you’re looking for a family-friendly event on Halloween (10/31), consider attending the MPD Third District’s Haunted House and Halloween Party for kids and families. It will be located at 1620 V Street NW, from 6:30-8:30pm. Candy, hot dogs, chips, and refreshments will be available. DCPS Attendance Policy Reminders - We adhere to DCPS’ student attendance policy and protocols. The school day begins for every student at 8:45am. If the student is not with the teacher at the time of morning pick-up from the cafeteria or designated ECE drop-off location, they are considered late and MUST come to the Main Office for a Tardy Slip. If a student is absent from school, the absence must be documented. Excused absences include: student’s illness, medical/dental appointment (a doctor’s note is required), Death of immediate family, Religious Holiday, visiting a parent in the military, court appearance, suspensions, failure of DC to provide transportation where DC is legally responsible. Unexcused absences include: Family vacation, babysitting, oversleeping, parent illness or doctor appointment. Parents have 5 days after a student returns to school to submit an excuse note. The Attendance designee, Ms. Moreno, will not be able to enter excuse notes after the 5 days. A doctor’s note is required for students who are absent for 5 or more consecutive days. *Official documentation (eg: a doctor’s note) is required for student absent 5 cumulative days per term. All excuse notes need to be submitted directly to Ms. Moreno (ONLY). Panther Post, por la Directora Lundgren Semana del 14 de Octubre de 2019 Querida Comunidad Pantera, espero que hayan disfrutado del fin de semana largo con su familia. Mi esposo y yo llevamos a nuestros hijos al Museo de Historia Americana, donde el Batimóvil era una gran atracción, y también estamos animando a los Nats en su viaje a la Serie Mundial. Espero verlos en nuestras Asambleas de Celebración del Mes de la Herencia Hispana este viernes. La celebración del Mes de la Herencia Hispana se acerca este viernes, 18 de octubre. Las familias son bienvenidas a unirse a nosotros para nuestra celebración culminante del Mes de la Herencia Hispana este viernes, 18 de octubre. Los estudiantes de ECE hasta 1er grado se presentarán a las 9:30am; los estudiantes de 2do a 5to grado se presentarán a la 1:45pm. Ambas asambleas tendrán lugar en el gimnasio. Fiesta de Halloween del Tercer Distrito del Departamento de Policía: Si está buscando un evento para toda la familia en Halloween (10/31), considere asistir a la Casa Embrujada del Tercer Distrito y a la Fiesta de Halloween para niños y familias. Estará ubicado en 1620 V Street NW, de 6:30-8:30pm. Dulces, perros calientes, papas fritas y refrescos estarán disponibles. Recordatorios de la Política de Asistencia de DCPS - Nos aapegamos a la política y protocolos de asistencia de los estudiantes de DCPS. El día escolar comienza para cada estudiante a las 8:45am. Si el estudiante no está con el maestro a la hora de recogerlo de la cafetería o del lugar designado para dejar al estudiante, se considera que está tarde y DEBE venir a la Oficina Principal para pedir una nota de retraso. Si un estudiante está ausente de la escuela, la ausencia debe ser documentada. Las ausencias justificadas incluyen: enfermedad del estudiante, cita médica/dental (se requiere una nota del médico), muerte de la familia inmediata, feriado religioso, visitar a un padre en el ejército, comparecencia en la corte, suspensiones, falta de DC para proporcionar transporte donde DC es legalmente responsable.
