LOOKING FOR SCHOLARSHIPS With the price of a four-year college education now often exceeding $100,000 students and their families need more than ever to think creatively. The common link among scholarship winners: They apply. You need to apply again and again. It is a lot of work, no question, but perhaps less than it seems. The scholarship process is a game, and you don’t automatically know how to play. You can master it. Start by looking at past scholarship entries. You can request them from sponsors. Talk to past winners. Don’t give up. Do not be dissuaded from trying. Look at all of your connections: parents, activities, church, ethnic background, even problem areas (for example there are scholarships for students with asthma). LOOKING FOR SCHOLARSHIPS

With the price of a four-year college education now often exceeding $100,000 students and their families need more than ever to think creatively. The common link among scholarship

IF YOU WANT A COLLEGE EDUCATION, MIDLAND COLLEGE CAN HELP!!!

Midland College provides financial assistance, in the form of academics or need grants-in-aid, for virtually every high school graduate who wishes to attend college and needs some

financial help. The following pages are scholarships administered by Midland College. There is also grant information.

There also are “work study” opportunities for qualified students that allow them to receive financial assistance by working up to 15 hours per week on the campus in various

departments. The work-study students often receive valuable on-the-job training and references from these opportunities.

By visiting with the Midland College counseling staff early, high school students can learn of the requirements for financial assistance. They also can determine which courses are

required to achieve their own career goals.

Those students interested in applying for grants-in-aid should apply as early as possible. Please remember that the deadlines shown for specific grants offered by or administered by

Midland College are the 1st dates to make application. Those who make application earlier are more likely to be approved.

For more information about Midland College, come by the office of Student Services, Administration Building or call 685-4501 for an appointment

*To apply for any of the listed scholarships, please fill out Midland College’s General Academic Scholarship Application located on the MC website, call (432) 685-6611 for more
