STUDENTS ARE TO DESIGN A SHELTER THAT FITS FOR 2 PERSON COMFORTABLY.
ALSO CONSIDERING ANTHROPOMETRIC AND ERGONOMICS FACTORS IN THE DESIGN OF THE DEVICES,SYSTEMS AND ENVIRONMENTS FOR HUMAN USE.
PROJECT INTRODUCES THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF PERSONAL/INDIVIDUAL SPACES AND ITS RELATIONSTO THE CONTEXT AND LOCAL CLIMATE.

SHELTER BEING DESCRIBED AS SOMETHING THAT PROVIDES COVER OF PROTECTION AS FROM THE WEATHER, REFUGE, HAVEN, AND AN ESTABLISMENT.
PROVIDES TEMPORARY HOUSING FOR HOMELESS PEOPLE.

THE DESIGN IS MOSTLY AFFECTED BY THE TROPICAL CLIMATE OF THE SITE.
FACTORS THAT ARE MOST CONSIDERED ARE HEAVY RAINFALL AND STRONGWINDS.
AS LIKE EVERY TRADITIONAL BUILDINGS, THE HIGH PITCHED ROOF PLAY ANIMPORTANT ROLE OF TACKLING THE WARM AND RAINY TROPICAL WEATHER.

This semester project tropical retreat/hideout emphasize the study on antrhopometric and ergonomics in the design. consideration of using passive design strategies and timber construction. Study of habitable space cater for 2 for-eigners to experience and appreciate hot and humid climate of the tropical climate set in janda baik.

the proposed site is at janda baik, pahang, malaysia. we are to propose a retreat design on the given site as practice in study. the focus of the study is on site context, anthropometry and ergonomics. for the tourist to ex-perience the climate in malaysia a tropical climate country.
site location
The site has a very beautiful scenery unfortunately the structure of the site itself is riddled with rock formations and slopes.
Therefore the site is neglected and only used as a camping site rather than being exploited as a potential tourist attraction as a tropical retreat

design concept derived from the idea of a plane simulator that provide an experience to the user of having the real situation even from inside of the simulator. an approach or concept of natural simulator is to gives the for-eigners to experience the climate in janda baik.
CONCEPTSTATEMENT
design derived overall from the site itself. through the site context for the most appropriate and suitable spacing and organization. create the environment of relaxing, ergonomic, and have an enjoyable view.the organization is derived from the shape of the site (river and contour), the form that create the facade and ambience of interior spaces is derived from a group of rocks on site that provide balance number for the fram-ing system to be done.
sekeping serendah retreat.
characteristic high for bird watching
privacy from other people offers lots of shade
minimalist structure wiTH no windows or walL
offers oppurtunity to explore and chanceto staY in a green, calming enviro.

The unpleasant smell and sight of the dump area.
The site has slopes and multiple rock formation.
The site has large-sized trees, such as coconut trees, bamboo trees etc.
Sloping surface from the riverbank towards the hill.
The site is too crowded with natural and man-made elements.
The site lacks multiple access points/entrances.
The unpleasant smell and sight of the dump area.
The site has slopes and multiple rock formation.

the idea derived for the retreat to be is a building that basically a tilted roof. a structure that provide a continuity in the construction and have it own rhytm by the shape itself. for the tourist to truly appreciate the climate as in Malaysia that is humid and hot, is to provide more shade and shelter from rain.
P 2.0FORMDEVELOPMENT
the form of the retreat is derived from a geometrized shape of rocks on site. in the mids of random shape and organization of rocks, a group of rock was founded to be in a neat ge-ometry pattern of a triangle. triangle that shows linear and direction is used.
tomanydifferentframegoingtodifficultitsconstruction.oneframeischosenamongstoease the construction and to provide ergonomic and follow the human anthropometry.
as in for the spatial and space organization is derived from the contour line of the site itself. it is deem to be the more suitable site as for the view and access. the contour line forms the retreat form.
