Mounted Winches

The Right Winch for Each VehicleOur modular construction ensures that you will have the optimum winch for your particular vehicle. The use of high-strength, grain-refined steel offers advan-tages such as compact construction, low own-weight, and long service life. The extremely rugged skidding blades are available in a variety of widths. A trailer coupling approved for public road use is standard. A particularly non-polluting feature lies in the ability to use biodegradable oil.On request, our winches are also available with hydraulic drive.

Safety FeaturesThe overlapping clutch and brake provide precise winch control. The cable is always held under tension (desirable when felling problem trees). The brake only releases once the clutch is fully engaged. This prevents any tension release or after-running by the winch. Permanently lubricated, ball-bearing mounted drums allow the cable to be drawn out easily at any time.

D 50 – the good-value starter model in professional qualityD 60 – the 6 ton professional winch

Power to both winches is provided by a duplex chain. Depending on the chain tension used, quiet operation up to 1000 min-1 is possible. The transverse drum position provides optimum mounting for these winches. All other winches are driven by maintenance-free worm gear immersed in an oil bath.

Both winches are equipped with their own power supply. Hydraulic oil from the vehicle is thus not required for winch control. Choker chain holder and coup-ler head are standard on all RITTER winches.

S 27-DYEE / S 29-DYEE – the powerful winches for professional applications

These winches – driven by a worm gear – have a very low and therefore optimum centre of gravity. This provides ideal weight distribution. Because of the relatively large distance between feed roller and cable drum, no cable winder is required on models D 50, D 60, S 27 and S 29. A cable winder is standard equipment on D 70 / D100 winches, the design and construction of which are different.

Regardless of the position in which you find yourself, S 50 / S 60 / S 70 winches will always provide optimum pulling power. By continuously checking the actual cable position, these winches automatically adjust themselves to provide maximum traction at any angle.

Unhindered cable winding ensures ideal utilization of the entire cable length. The swivel arm on the cable winder provides damage-free cable extension to increase cable service life. A plug-in trailer coupling that can be completely removed, as well as a locking tool chest are both standard equipment. The centre mounted PTO drive offers ideal mounting on any vehicle. The infinitely swivelling cable roller optimally adjusts to the load and cable drum.

With a tractive force up to 2 x 100 kN / 10 t a low centre of gravity is very important. A highlight on these winches is the central position of the PTO drive. The worm gear enables constant and powerful traction.S 66-3 P without illustration.

On request double drum cable winches can be delivered without choker chain holder. The skidding blade then features nearly a plain surface.Like on all other RITTER winches the standard coupler head may be used on public roads under certain circumstances. All RITTER S 27 / 29 winches can be equipped or retrofitted with the combined cable ejector and feed brake.

Single Drum Built-in Winches

Quick-Change Feature

Quick-change winch systems are available for all tractor types.If the tractor is also used for other applications, a quick-change mounted winch is the ideal solution. The winch assembly can be quickly removed. All the tractor’s hydraulic functions available in the rear remain completely unaffected. RITTER guarantees the quick installation of the complete winch assembly, including console and sprag. The skidding blade also utilizing the quick-change design is available on request.

On grounds of their compact construction, our double drum winches can be used for a wide variety of applications. Whether mounted on the front or in the rear, the ball-bearing mounted drums allow cable to be easily drawn out at any time. If drive cannot be provided by the PTO, our winches can also be po-wered hydraulically.As is the case with all RITTER winches, precise winch control (own supply) is provided by the clutch and brake overlap. The cable is always held under ten-sion. The brake only releases once the clutch is fully engaged. This prevents any tension release or after-running by the winch. Higher cable capacities are available on request.

Professional skidder cranes for efficient forestry

Our skidder cranes have been specially developed to meet the uncompromising demands of the forestry industry, where they have been productively emplo-yed for decades. Working closely with our customers, we have continuously improved these products.All cranes are available either as permanently attached units, or can be mounted using our quick-change system. The quick-change lock (accessory item) on the grapple allows several add-on units (e.g. a harvester head) to be operated using the crane. The compact construction of the grapples permits a low transport position. The powerful grapples, specially developed for working with logs, are controlled by a double swing damper. Various types of claws can be installed. Our extensive vertical range of manufacture allows us to provide tailor-made solutions to any problem.

This crane employs modular construction techniques and is available in lengths of 1.9 m and 4.5 m. In addition, the crane can be combined with a variety of mounted equipment (scoops, drills, etc.).Skidding cranes are available with either three-point or quick-change mounting. All three-point mounting cranes can be combined with a RITTER mounted winch. The systems are controlled either by the tractor’s existing control equipment or from a separate control unit with a joystick.

Short-distance Cable Cranes

KSK-1

The RITTER short-distance cable crane represents a high-performance system for thin-ning small to medium-sized trees. Timber can be moved uphill, downhill, or along level ground (in marshy or swampy environments) while protecting the soil. The process combines the retrieval advantages of cable crane technology with the ergonomic ad-vantages of the combined catenary curve process for thinning stands inaccessible to vehicles.

The KSK is available as either a direct-mount, three-point mounting, or trailer unit. The advantages of the trailer unit lie in its independence from the primary mover. The system’s extremely short setup and tear-down times permit rapid location changes. By using a travelling crab in cross-beam version, even convex slopes can be thinned.

The MSK-2 medium-distance cable crane allows skidding sections of up to 400 me-tres. That modular system can be used either as a direct-mount winch with a large winding capacity or in combination as a medium-distance cable crane. A guided winding device built in on both sides ensures perfect cable winding onto the entire winch. Over the whole cable length the hydraulic winch drive always provides the maximum tractive power thanks to the innovative Ritter constant traction principle.

KSK-3 Short-distance Cable Crane

The KSK-3 may be combined with any Ritter double-drum cable winch. That system may thus be used in a variety of ways either as a direct-mount winch or as a short-distance cbale crane. The hydraulic height adjustment of the tower allows to set up the best section for skidding the logs. With the KSK-3, too, timber can be moved uphill, downhill, or along level ground while pro-tecting the soil. Thanks to the patented gliding hook combined with the limit stop cutoff it is possible for one worker only to do his job in an economic and ergonomic way even on a terrain of difficult access.

The R 185 has been specially engineered for professional use (articulated steering) and designed for ruggedness and productivity. The comfortable cabin is fitted with rubber vibration absorbers that reduce noise and oscillations and thus relieve the driver. The driver’s stand, which can continuously rotate, per-manently allows optimum and ergonomic working. Powerful skidding cranes together with the 3-speed RITTER S 66 DS winch make the entire unit an eco-nomical efficient purpose-built machine for forestry work. R 185-6 Skidder

The innovative R 185-6 is the ideal multipurpose machine for the skidding of short or long logs. That tractor of modular construction can be equipped or converted for the most varied jobs within a very short time. You will thus have the suitable loading capacity for every yarding lot - without having to get off the vehicle – each kit being easy to adjust without using any tool.

The R 185-6 is the uncompromising bigger version of the very successful 4-wheel R 185 skidder. The spacious soundproof cabin ensures an outstanding all-around view. Perfect oil management allows to add optional equipment such as harvester head, branch cutter, mulch head, etc. without any difficulty. Thanks to its final velo-city of 38 km/h and its economical common-rail diesel engines the skidder reaches any place of operation within a short time at very low cost.
