It gives a bad impression of our services if our clients find mistakes in

their translations. Therefore, we have to ensure that we deliver our

translations to our clients without any mistakes.

For this reason, we rely on a two-man rule to prevent careless mistakes

and to ensure the consistency and high quality of our translations.

To your first file you add the ending

_rev . In this file you enabled change

tracking so we can see the changes

you have made.

To your second file you add the

ending _lengoo . In this file you accepted all changes

and we can deliver this document to

our client.

It is extremely important to name the files correctly and consistently to ensure that our system

can work properly. That way our system recognizes the correct versions of a text and ensures that

translators, proofreaders, and of course our customers always receive the right files.

Keep the file name of the translation and add the following endings:

Why is file naming so important to us?

Situation 1

You accepted a proofreading job and received source text and translation. What

do you have to pay attention to before you start proofreading?

Most important is that you enable change tracking so we can see the changes you made and evaluate

how much work you have done.

Your first step should be to read the whole source text to get an idea of the content, style and mood

of the text.

Situation 2

What do you have to take into consideration while proofreading?

The first thing you have to check is if the content of the source text is translated correctly and

completely. Afterwards, check spelling, grammar, punctuation, double spaces, etc. Then, make sure all

numbers, names, and addresses were transferred correctly into the target text. Finally, ensure that

layout and text formatting correspond with the source text.

After finishing these corrections, put the source text aside and read the translation independently.

Does it read fluently and sound natural?

Situation 3

While proofreading, you notice that an information in the source text is wrong /

outdated but the translator used it in the target text anyway. What should you do

now?

Intensive research is necessary to find out if the information really is wrong / outdated. If that is the

case, correct / update the information and leave a comment in the text explaining what you did, since

we and of course our clients have to be able to understand what you changed and also why you

changed it.
