What a difference a day makes! I’m not talking about the stunning
weather we had on Wednesday, but actually our Busy Bee on Sunday.
Before Polar Bears had even finished our members had already begun to
roll up their sleeves and start to take on the tasks that lay ahead. Tasks
were divided into general duties and technical with members taking
them on based on their skills and preference. This targeted approach saw
them knocked off in no time!
Windows were washed, sand cleared, surfaces pressure washed, items
installed and rubbish cleared before we wound down and called it a day.
It still amazes me that after just a season and a half in our new home we
can fill two skip bins with rubbish! Thanks to the members who showed
up and helped as we all benefit from your efforts.
Signage installation has continued throughout this week across the upper
and lower building, it’s great to see us stamping our presence on the
Scarborough Foreshore ahead of the coming season. I can’t wait to get
down over the weekend and see it in the daylight and have a proper look.
Our Junior and Seniors Registration Day is fast approaching and promises
to be an exciting fun filled day, not just all about paperwork and fees.
Given the ever growing popularity of Nippers I strongly advise our
current members to get online and renew via the Club website to secure
their child’s place for the coming season, and avoid the queues on the
day.
To all our Surf Club Dads Happy Father’s Day for Sunday.
See you down the beach.

Polar Bears Club Championship - Sunday 25/8/2019
This Sunday was the annual Polar Bears Club Championships. The
weather and sea conditions were ideal, with bright sunshine and a rip
running all the way from the beach to the cans.
Rules of the championship are simple: all swimmers start off go in
their regular division (A or B), fastest swimmer wins (no second prizes)
provided that they have completed at least three winter swims this
year.
B- Grade was hotly contested: Aidan Somers swam a great race, but
was not eligible for the championship - first place instead went to
Bruce Simpson, second was Charlotte Hoy, and in third place Phil
Cooper.
In A grade, Jesse Willison came in first in a super fast time, second was
Tom Horton, and third Zac Colman.
Daryl Kelly‘s swim performance may have been inspired by the Eagles
this week – despite much promising ability he came in towards the
back of the pack.
Polar Bears regular competition resumes next Sunday, 10am. See you
all there!

The northern beaches are in our blood. We’ve grown up
here. This is where we live. Over the last 40+ years we’ve
become part of the community. No other real estate
company has served this area as long as we have. It’s this local
knowledge and experience that we believe sets us apart to get a
better result for our customers.
Over this time, we’ve developed our own unique way of doing things and established long-lasting
relationships to make sure selling, leasing or buying is a great experience for everyone.
We know where to find the buyers and tenants.
It’s important to remember, most people move somewhere close to the area they’re already
living. That’s why our presence with three offices along the coast is so important. We’ll market your
property with the latest and most innovative ways, with our new branding ensuring we always
standout on the street and online.
There is nothing more Australian than our surf club culture, and we’re entrenched in this healthy
way of life by not only being long-term sponsors, but by also having staff as members. The
Licensee of the Scarborough office, Tim Schifferli, has been a member of the club for nearly 20
years, mainly supporting Sam and Ellie who have been patrolling members and competitors over
the years, and more recently age managers. You’ll find Tim down swimming every (most)
mornings as a member of the “Numb Nuts” along with Nick, Thommo, Mick, Rod and Wendy. A
hardy bunch, they set the tone for commitment and fitness within the club and are always on the
search for new members.
Should you wish to discuss anything real estate, whether buying, selling or renting feel free to give
Tim a call on 0432 988 2815 or email Tim on [email protected].
